Studies On The Salars Society During The Transformation Period

The Salars are one of the ten ethnic minorities that believe in Islam. The ancestors of the Salars came from the region of Samarkand in Central Asia. At present most of the Salars mainly dwell in the Xunhua Salar Autonomous County in Qinghai Province. There is also a sparse distribution in Gansu, Xinjiang and some other counties in Qinghai province. In recent years, as the aim of national economic system reformation has transited from the partial transformation of microcosmic field to the establishment of a socialist market economy, the Salars are experiencing the new reformation. The conformity and polarization appeared in the old Salars culture, the main cultural value is gradually losing its traditional position, and various sub-cultures are influencing and changing the national society. The transformation has brought the polarization-conformity -polarization of interests structure and divergences that caused by different culture and value concept. Meanwhile, the instability of transformation will undoubtedly bring more obvious social problems and contradictions, which will influence the entire process of reform, opening-up and modernization of the Salars society. This thesis tries to probe into the changes of interests pattern of previous Salars society during the process of redistribution of social resources and reorganization of the distributing system of social resources through studying on social transformation of the Salars and analyzing its economic structure, organizational structure, cultural education, religious structure, marriage and family etcetera in the period of social transformation. It also tries to reveal the essence, functional law and developmental tendency of the Salars society from all kinds of superficial phenomenon. This will provide some theoretical foundations for properly understanding and tackling the issues of national relationship in the northwestern ethnic minority region.According to it, the thesis briefly talks about:1.The changes of social structure of the Salars in the period of transformation.
