Based on the paradigm theory, aiming at the deficiencies of university ideological and political education, this dissertation tries to expatiate the development of university ideological and political education. The paradigm transformation presents the relationship of confrontation, interdependence and surpassing of the new educational paradigm with the old one in their process of development. By investigating the ideological and political education development from the angle of paradigm transformation, the educational theme, background, theoretical vision, historical and practical significance can all be demonstrated more clearly. Paradigm transformation of the ideological and political education is the reconstruction of ideological and political education philosophy essentially. The current paradigm transformation occurs between the text-oriented education and the human-oriented education, which means the transformation from "superior-orientation" and "book-orientation" to "human-orient". University ideological and political education paradigm forms the text-oriented paradigm with the characteristics of exclusion, knowledge-reliance, idealization, dogmatism and pan-politics, which leads to low efficiency and marginalization of university ideological and political education. It is urgent to turn to human-oriented educational paradigm with the characteristics of openness, emotion, subjectivity and life. This dissertation analyses the connotation of human-oriented educational paradigm and text-oriented educational paradigm and their influence on university ideological and political education, in order to seek the basic start to solve the problem of ideological and political education in the university and forecast its tendency. This dissertation brings forward the strategies to carry out the paradigm transformation and offers theoretical instruction and effective practical reference to develop the human-oriented education.According to dialectical materialism and historical materialism principle, from abstract to concrete thinking, the dissertation concentrates on the paradigm transformation of university ideological and political education with comparative method and criticism-construction method. The dissertation is composed of the preface and the main body. The main body consists of five parts. The first part deals with the definition of "paradigm" and "paradigm transformation" and generalizes the characteristics of human-oriented educational paradigm and text-oriented educational paradigm. The second part analyses the foundation of paradigm transformation of the university ideological and political education, including the theoretical foundation, practical foundation and disciplinary foundation. The third part shows the analysis of impetus and causes of the educational paradigm transformation, involving the lack of human-oriented spirit in universities, external impetus and internal contradiction. The fourth part discusses the paradigm transformation tendency of ideological and political education. It has to fulfill the following tasks: change the educational value from instrumentalization to human-orientation; change the educational essence from standardization to development; change the educational function from passive adaptation to transcendence; change the educational mode from unity to diversity; change the teaching form from inoculation to equal interlocution. The fifth part puts forward the paradigm transformation route of ideological and political education in universities: establishing the scientific educational idea; optimizing the educational content structure; innovating the educational discourse; improving the quality of the teaching staff.
