Orientation of education values affects every level of educational practice; meanwhile, problems and perplexities in educational practice reflect confusion in the orientation of education values. It is one of the key issues in educational studies, and the aesthetic value is the necessary choice of orientation of educational values.The aesthetic value of education is the regression of educational value in its noumenal sense. Its basic logic is: education is social activities in training human beings, while human beings are shaped in accordance with the aesthetic models. The conclusion is that education bears inevitable inherent pursuit of aesthetic values. The aesthetic values of education are objectively embedded in education activities. It can satisfy individual's aesthetic demands in a certain extent. The aesthetic value of education exists in the mutual relation of subjects-objects, and subjects-subjects involved in educational activities. It is the sense generated in educational activities, either to the subjects from objects mr from subjects to subjects. Compared with the truth-seeking values, inclination-to-goodness values, the aesthetic value of education possesses its particularities, with more obvious spirituality and stronger affectivity. Compared with other values, aesthetic values of education reflect more obviously that these values are the ultimate target and purpose of attaining a comprehensive and integrated development of human beings, embodying the essential pursuit of education.The issue of aesthetic values of education is considered as the following: Firstly, for the understanding and an ideal of education. The value of education rests with transmission of truth, goodness and beauty. Thus, education necessarily represents the pursuit of science, subjectivity and sensibility. Education, to the human beings, serves for their better life, and its ideal is to seek the harmony of seeking truth, goodness and aesthetic value. Secondly, it is a reflection of the realistic educational values. The present education shows a nature of being an instrument, ignoring the existence of aesthetic values of education. It is commonly believed that "knowledge is power". So, education becomes a process of delivering knowledge, and "education as teaching, teaching as knowledge". The subjectivity and sensibility are lost, and students are not enjoying happiness, growth, nor freedom or creation. Thirdly, aesthetic values of education go beyond the reflections of present studies on aesthetic education. "Teaching with joy" is only the activities of arts and skills. A novel study of aesthetic values of education shall be able to present a humanistic spirit to the time.This dissertation probes the theoretic and practical issues of aesthetic values of education based on Marxist philosophy of value, educational science and aesthetics, and on the notion that "beauty is the relation of harmony and freedom".It consists eight chapters.Introduction. Research questions, conditions, content and significance of the research are presented in this part.Chapter1: The epistemological foundation of aesthetic values of education. Firstly, it is made clear that the premise aesthetic value of education is the human pursuit of value. Aesthetics is the existing way of human life, and the ultimate pursuit of value, a key in realizing aesthetic value. Secondly, it is found from the study of aesthetic values both home and abroad that pursuit of aesthetic values and its unique features are unavoidable.Chapter 2: The essential prescription of aesthetic values of education. The aesthetic values of education are significant in that it exists in the subject and object of education activities and interrelation of them, to achieve the aesthetic value, which produces and forms sense between subject and object, and subject and subject. The aesthetic values of education present criticalness, subjectivity and creativeness and it is presented in three forms as beauty, sadness and happiness.Chapter 3: The noumenal status of aesthetic values of education. Compared with such values as truth-seeking and inclination-to-goodness value, aesthetic value of education presents its own features in that: It is the presentation of seeking-truth value, symbol of inclination-to-goodness value, and the starting point of both of them and their inevitable end. The aesthetic value of education is seen as the noumenon in educational value.Chapter 4: The goal of aesthetic value of education. The basis of the aesthetic value of education is human practices. It can be divided into three categories: macro value, purpose of educating and teaching goals. Analysis on each of them is made in this part for the purpose of a construction of the aesthetic values of education.Chapter 5: The process of aesthetic value of education. The examination-oriented education ignores the process, and inevitably ignores educational value. Interpretations of the process result in the analysis of the three stages of the process. Chapter 6: Content of aesthetic value of education. Content is the carrier of the aesthetic value of education. The realization of aesthetic value of education is determined with the content on the one hand, and on the other, with teacher and students as subjects of the value, and their experience of the content. Orientation of aesthetic value of education is the ultimate pursuit of educational value.Chapter 7: Evaluation of aesthetic value of education. It is in fact the evaluation of subjects' sensibility of education, presented in perception and conception. The standards of evaluation are subjective, yet it objectively exists in the process of education.Chapter 8: Realization of aesthetic value of education. The premise of the realization of aesthetic value of education is the harmonious development of society. It is the unification of content and forms, simultaneous increase by degrees, and truth, goodness and beauty. The realization includes macro values, values of goals and values in classroom practices.Extra theory: The appreciation value of education and the function in establishing harmonious society. The appreciation value of education is the same as main value of harmonious society. The appreciation value of education is the infarctate theory foundation of education for all-around development can guide, promote the establishing of harmonious society.
