This dissertation discuss the relationship between educational recognition and self-identity. Recognition is an approach of the self-identity, it means that we can foster our self-realization when we need to recognize each other; it also helps to the self-determination and independence. Self-identity is one's inner self-reflection, it can integrates one's mental character, create the inner spiritual order, and realize the identity of ideal self and actual self. Furthermore, self-identity means that one can obtain the value common sense with others, so it concerns one's self-improvement and the development of moral qualities. The realization of self-identity relies on the mutual recognition, because people regard and judge themselves by the others. As an open value field of view, this relationship of mutual recognition offer a measurable framework for one's living ideal.Self-identity become a topic in modern times, because the identity of individuality was dominated by the society system in tradition times. One was fixed on his role and was recognized, there was lack of autonomy and right of choice. With the increasing of individual consciousness in modern societies, self-identity is no longer a matter of course which relies on the recognition of social class and the others, one should strive for it. The isolated individual either becomes a orectic subject or a rational subject, which deviates from the identity of turning to good. This uncertainty of modern self-identity raises an issue for modern education that what kind of recognition is helpful to the children's self-identity.There are three forms of educational recognition we experienced, that is, love, basic human rights and social admiration. Through this interactive relationship, children can obtain such practical qualities as self-trust, self-respect and self-worth etc. So, educational recognition is the indispensable condition for children's self-fulfillment. However, the distortion and deficiency of recognition in education deprive the children of their self-fulfillment, and the distorted recognition will destroy and maze the real self-identity.The educational recognition not only help the children to obtain the freedom, but also to achieve their excellence. The educational community bonding with the recognition not only contains the universal rational norms which ensure the children's equal identity, but also offers a necessary valuable and practical space for children's self-fulfillment.
