Currently one of the main problems in collective teaching is children' engagement only in behavior rather than psychological engagement. This paper is dedicated to the research of the children psychological engagement in collective teaching activities. We made an analysis of 74 effective teaching activities collected with quantitative and qualitative research methods and came to the following conclusions:In terms of children engagement of teaching activities at all grades there is no significant difference. However, significant difference can be found between the teaching activities in the various subjects. Active engagement activities do not necessarily display the high level of cognition; activities of passive or mixed engagement tend to display the low level of cognition. The vast majority of high level of cognition engagement teaching activities exhibits active emotion engagement; whereas low level of cognition engagement activities do not seem to have significant emotional engagement differences. Through cluster analysis, teaching activities are grouped into four categories in accordance with the different circumstances, namely, high cognitive active emotion engagement in teaching activities, and low cognitive active emotion involved in teaching activities, micro-cognitive mixed emotion engagement in teaching activities and low - Cognitive passive emotion engagement in teaching activities.Combination type of the questions by teachers as well as the degree of difficulty of the question are the main factors responsible for children engagement. Questions of moderate difficulty are the leading factors for children's high cognitive active engagement in teaching activities; Easier questions are the main reason for children' low cognitive active engagement; Easy questions and other stimulators might bring about micro-cognitive mixed engagement; Difficult questions are the main factor leading to cognitive passive emotion engagement in teaching activities.As to the systematic features of the whole engagement teaching activities and partial engagement activities, the former is open system, the latter closed system. Teachers, Teaching material , particularly teachers' preparation for lessons are the main factors which might influence teaching activities and children' engagement. From the feature of the teaching process, there exist difference between the whole engagement teaching activites and partial engagement in terms of learning purpose, teaching continuity and teaching drive. Finally some tentative suggestions of improving children' engagement in teaching activities are offered from the aspect of rectifying teachers' role, improving teachers' prepation for lessons,effectively using teaching medium and perfecting the teaching precess.
