With the development of network technology, computer technology and other technologies, online learning appears, which emphasizes the openness of the learning resources and the communication among students. Online learning has become the mainstream of the learning style, and a large number of learners participate in online learning. However, because of the lack of communication between teacher and student, student engagement in online learning is not ideal, and its persistence and efficiency is poor. Student engagement is a necessary condition for online learning, and the level of student engagement has an important impact on online learning. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and study student engagement in online learning, so as to help teachers understand student engagement in order to implement timely intervention, and to help students reflect on their learning and promote them to in-depth participate in the online learning.Student engagement is a complex problem, which includes behavioral engagement, cognitive engagement and emotional engagement. Existing researches focus on theoretical model construction, statistics of external behaviors, and analysis of influence factors and effects, and lack of researches on accurate measurement of student engagement. Therefore, this thesis intends to put forward a credible and measurable student engagement model to accurately analyze student behavioral engagement, cognitive engagement and emotional engagement. Specific research work is mainly reflected in the following aspects: (1) Construction of student engagement model in online learning. For the problems that existingresearches mainly focus on student behaviors, and lack of cognitive and emotional comprehensive consideration, based on constructivism learning theory, elements of online learning and its influence factors, and influence factors of student engagement, this thesis puts forward the S-TEC student engagement model, and combining with the characteristics of online learning, puts forward the "three dimension four degree" analysis framework of student engagement, and make a detailed analysis of the framework from three dimensions which are behavioral engagement, cognitive engagement and emotional engagement. (2) Analysis of student behavioral engagement based on comprehensive weight. For the problemsthat existing researches focus on frequency of student behaviors, and lack of consideration on scope and depth student behaviors, starting from the learning activities students participate in, and combined with S-TEC student engagement model and analysis framework, this thesis puts forward the partition of behavioral engagement attributes. For the attribute’s weight setting, this thesis puts forward the method of combining subjective and objective weight, and then use the linear weighted method to calculate the student behavior engagement. The experimental results show that the results ranking of comprehensive weight and final grade ranking has higher consistency, and the calculated results of behavioral engagement and the final grade are significantly relevant, verifying the effectiveness of comprehensive weight calculation and student behavioral engagement calculation.(3) Analysis of student cognitive engagement based on grey partial correlation. For the problems that existing researches focus on the frequency statistics and descriptive analysis of online discussions, and lack of in-depth analysis of student cognitive engagement, based on the Bloom’s cognitive process dimension, this thesis expands the breadth of student cognitive engagement, forming the partition of behavioral engagement dimensions. For the characteristic of influences bentween high level dimensions and low level dimensions, this thesis puts forward using partial correlation analysis to calculate the weight of each dimension. For the characteristic part information clear and part information unclear in the process of cognitive engagement analysis, this thesis puts forward using the grey comprehensive evaluation to analyze student cognitive engagement. The experimental results show that after expanding the breadth of student cognitive engagement, grey partial correlation result is more relevant to students’ final grade, and can more reflect the actual situation of the student cognitive engagement.(4) Analysis of student emotional engagement based on cloud model. For the problems of data acquisition and quantitative analysis of student emotional engagement in online learning, based on Ekman’s six basic emotions and combined with academic emotions in online learning, this thesis puts forward the partition of emotional engagement dimensions, and then gets quantitative data of students’ emotional experience by use self-report scale. For the shortcomings of the cloud model, the thesis put forward an improved cloud model of student emotion experience to analyze student emotional experiences, and accurately depict students’emotional experiences in online learning through parameters of cloud model. The experimental results show that students’emotional experience calculated by using improved cloud model are more relevant to students’ final grade, and can reflect students’emotional engagement.(5) Based on the above research, the thesis applies the student engagement model to CCNU’s cloud classroom platform, selects one of the classes as the analysis object, and makes specific analysis from overall, individual and other different dimensions, helps teachers understand students’ learning situation, so as to adjust teaching strategies and learning content.The innovation points of the thesis are mainly reflected in:1) construct S-TEC student engagement model, providing theoretical support and quantitative basis for analyzing student engagement,2) put forward a analysis method of student behavioral engagement based on comprehensive weights, making an in-depth analysis of student behavioral engagement from frequency, breadth and depth of behaviors,3) put forward a analysis method of student cognitive engagement based on grey partial correlation, making an in-depth analysis of student cognitive engagement from depth and breadth of cognition,4) put forward a analysis method of student emotional engagement under the support of cloud model, making quantitative analysis of student emotional engagement from student’s own emotion experience.
