Studies On The Theory And Practice Of Jiang Nanxiang's Moral Education Thought

Jiang Nanxiang is a famous Marxism educationist in contemporary China and the exploiter of PRC higher education enterprise. Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought is not only the most important and splendid content of his education thought, but also the important part of the moral education theory of Chinese Communist Party (CCP). As the loyal follower of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping's education thoughts and the apotheosis of carrying out CCP's educational policies, Jiang Nanxiang initiated and accumulated much experience during his several ten years'educational practice. In the new historical period that our government has announced to build up several world first-class universities and CCP has emphasized the importance on the ideological education of undergraduate, it should be significant in both theory and practice to investigate Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought systemically and thoroughly.Under the guidance of Marxism, the historical development, theoretical basis and main contribution of Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought were analyzed systematically in this dissertation by the means of literature analysis, historical reviewing, visiting consultation and so on. The realistic meanings of his thought were pointed out after summarizing its characteristics.Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought is the product of his carrying out CCP's educational policies in a creative way under the guidance of Marxism. After burgeoned during the period of revolutionary war, the thought came into being basically in the peaceful constructing stage as the result of developing 14 years after liberation, and developed farther in the new historical period. Originated from the Marxism, Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought presents the theoretical characteristic of Mao Zedong thought, and reflects the educational ideas of Deng Xiaoping. The main contributions of Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought include, the idea of putting moral education in primacy strategically, the idea of considering one with both professional proficiency and personal integrity as the target of moral education, the idea of"three procession", insisting the idea of teaching students in accordance of their aptitude, using methods of combining education and self-education, and the practice of carrying moral education through culture and amusement. Among them, the idea of considering one with both professional proficiency and personal integrity as the target of moral education is not only the clue during the whole development course but also one of the outstanding contributions of Jiang Nanxiang. The unification of theory with practice, the unification of maintaining with development and the"resultant force"mode in moral education are the characteristics of Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought. It will be senseful and worthy to dominate the right direction of world first-class universities, and strengthen and promote the ideological education of college students if we follow and develop Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought.Speaking in a sense, it will be helpful for us to grasp the"mental soul"of constructing world first-class universities when we follow and develop Jiang Nanxiang's moral education thought.
