Information Interest Theory

With the development of global informatization, the contribution of information and information resources to national economy has become increasingly prominent, for its development, management and utilization are now related to the prosperity of businesses, industries and even nations. As the representative of high-tech information technology has strong permeability, and its popularization and application has brought about profound changes to our economy and our society. Interests, the core of all economic activities, are also fundamental driving force of all economic activities. Information interests are the starting point as well as the destination of information activities such as information searches, information resources exploitation and information technology innovation, and so on. From the perspective of economic theory, information and interests are both main research subjects of economics, so selecting this subject, information interests, is based on practical and theoretical thinking of information and interests. At the same time the study of information interests also has relatively strong theoretical and practical significance, on the one hand, it can enhance information theory and fill up some blanks of interest theory to enrich economic theory; on the other hand, it has a certain practical significance for promoting China's information interests.Based on the concept of information interests, this paper tries to construct a more complete theoretical framework by making comprehensive studies in four parts, eight chapters. The first part consists of the first chapter for introduction, including the paper's research origin, research significance, contents summary, main innovations and some deficiencies. The second part includes the second, the third and the fourth chapter for theoretical analysis, exploring information interests'general laws and special mechanisms mainly from theoretical perspective in order to build a basic theoretical framework. At first it discusses the definition, characteristics and classification of information interests, then sorts and reviews domestic and foreign related literatures, finally studies the overall process including creation, exchange, sharing and realization, so as to form a relatively complete theoretical framework of information interests. The third part includes chapter 5,6,7 and is for positive analysis, researching China's information interests normatively and positively on macro, meso and micro levels. In the micro-analysis, it discusses about information asymmetry and enterprise information interests. In the meso-analysis, information interests are researched theoretically and positively from agriculture, industry and services industry separately. In the macro-analysis, it discusses China's information interests from aspects of economic growth, labor employment, sustainable development and harmonious society construction. The fourth part consists of chapter 8 for proposals.This chapter at first demonstrates theoretically that the government should be in the dominant position to promote information interests, and then presents some concrete proposals to promote China's information interests according to international advanced experiences and China's policy practices.The paper's innovations are mainly reflected in three aspects:first, the paper proposes the concept of information interests and makes a more systematic theoretical analysis, which has not yet seen in existing literature; the second, it analyzes China's information interests systematically on micro, meso and macro levels by using positive research method, which are still rare in existing literature; thirdly, it analyzes in detail the practices of foreign information interests, sums up some experiences useful to our nation, and puts forward some suggestions to promote China's information interests, which are also novel in this paper.Although I have pondered over information interests for a long time, there are still many deficiencies in the depth and width of this paper as result of my unsound theoretical knowledge and limited literature materials, so I will study it further in future in order to enrich and perfect the theory of information interests.
