Using regional government competition theory, this paper tries to analyze the regional differences and coordination approaches during the process of Chinese systematic transformation. Outlined on regional government competition, this paper studies systematically the causes that lead to the birth and changes of the differences in Chinese regional economy and points out that Chinese characteristic of economic growth and inner power for the birth and changes of regional development differences lie in the economic decentralization and the maintenance of political authority of the government; lie in the disintegration of a huge economic entity into a number of independent regional economic entities; and in the creation of fierce competition between local governments for the economic growth.The research on the ingredients of regional government competition shows that the evolution of regional government competition relates closely to the types and changing path of Chinese regional differences. Further regulated analysis demonstrates that regional government competition exists in the following aspects: the regional growth, market order, integration, and macro-control on the macro level; the evolution of various kinds of enterprises and the utilization of subsidy and preferential treatment on the level of enterprises; the formation of regional capital, accumulation of human capital and land competition on the level of ingredient.
