Economic Analysis Of China's Oil Security

The oil security is the core of energy security, which is the important foundation of the national economic security. Since 1993, China has always kept being the oil net-import country and the degree of dependence on the foreign oil continues to increase, up to 40% in 2005. Faced with the drastically competitive and complicated international oil market, China has a great challenge on how to solve the problem of oil security and has a big urgency to do the deep research on this issue.In this dissertation the writer tries to study this problem on the framework of economic contradiction system, by way of contradiction-analytic methodology. The main framework is as the following:The first chapter analyses the formation of the contradiction inherited in the china oil security problem. From both sides of the oil supply and demand to analyze, we can see that, the quantity of oil consumption increases rapidly and continuously with the economy's high growth rate, while oil production capability keeps stable with the limit of reserves of resources and level of technology, which leads to the supply-demand gap bigger and bigger and the degree of dependence on the foreign oil much higher and higher, year by year. This situation makes the economic contradiction relating to the oil become aggravating, and the contradiction system of oil security forms.The second chapter analyses the main elements which affect the oil security contradiction. The premise to do the contradiction analysis is to definite its subject and basic point hence, to clear up the connotation of the theme. As China being a socialistic nation, the subject of the oil security question in this country must be laborer and the connotation is the establishment and realization of laborer's benefit and right in the oil consumption production and trade. The purpose of the problem is to ensure resource supply to improve the laborer's skill. The author gives a new theoretical definition on the oil security by the side of the economic benefit and right. That is , the oil security is a condition in which the economic subject's benefit and right relating to the oil production consumption and trade can be established and realized in the whole economic contradiction system.By this new definition, the author analyses the main elements to influence the oil supply-demand contradiction.
