In order to improve their disadvantageous status in global value chain for developing country's enterprises, there needs to impel their upgrading with enough impetus so as to obtain good promotion, performance. Existing literature has not thorough summarize and research the impetus and the performance as well as their inner link, so, this study takes influence on performance by the impetus of upgrading as the research subject. In view of the subject the study proposes two suppositions that the promotion power impels enterprise's technology advancement, the promotion power exerts positive influence effect on the promotion performance.According to the analysis on the environment of enterprise upgrading in global value chains, research refines three kinds of promotion powers: agglomeration effects, leader's impetus and innovation. Through carrying on the examination to the DongGuan IT enterprise on the supposition 1, we prove it establishment about the supposition that leader's impetus and innovation all impel technology advance- ment. The purchaser leadership enterprise, the. producer leadership enterprise are all able to impel technology advancement of enterprise impeding in global value chai- ns.Former's impetus is not remarkable, speed of technology advancement is slower; Latter's impetusing is more sufficient, speed of technology advancement is quicker. Innovation competition in the value chain impels the innovation to carry on by a kind of balanced condition, which forms a lasting power to impetus technology advancement. Agglomeration effect is more intense, its indirect promotion to technology advancement is stronger.The promotion power promotes enterprise's upgrading through impel technologic advancement and then exert influence on promotion performance. The research has fixed the connotation of upgrading performance.Enterprise's upgrading performance include promotion of enterprise's core ability, promotion of enterprise's status in value chain as well as promotion of social performance. Using some relative index we can appraise upgrading performance through related technical processing. Bsaing on analylizing and summarizing the promotion performance of the Dongguan IT enterprise, research launchs to examinate the supposition 2 with regression analyse. The result indicates the supposition, which the leader's impetus and the innovation exert positive influence on promotion performance, is asertain. There is not the return relation between the agglomeration effects and promotiond performance. Through comparing with the supposition 1 the research proves that the leader's impetus plays a more vital role in realizing promotion performance of the Dongguan IT enterprise. It is created by difference of their promoting impetus towards upgrading.
