China's Western Region Of Rural Residents Income Research, And Consumer Issues

In resent years, the issues of continuous growth of income gap and how to expand domestic consumption and strengthen the role of consumption in stimulating economic growth have been given extensive attention.The income gap among different rural areas in China, between urban and rural areas, and within different groups is the profound reflection of excessive income gap. Among different regions, the residents' income gap between the Western and Eastern areas is the largest, and the rural residents' income gap is larger than the urban residents'. Considering the non-monetary factors such as medical, education and unemployment insurance, the income gap between urban and rural residents in china perhaps is the world highest; however, as compared with the whole country, the income gap between urban and rural residents in West China is higher. Moreover, the income cap between the highest income group and lowest income group has been increasing, while the lowest income group mainly live in rural areas, especially in the rural areas of the Western region. Obviously, low income of rural residents in West China becomes the focus of the above-mentioned income gap. Because income has a decisive impact on residents' consumption, and fast or slow increase of rural residents' consumption depends on their income increasing. To expand domestic consumption and realize the transformation of the means of economic growth, we must increase the consumption of rural residents who are the majority of the populations in China. In West China, the slow increase of rural residents' income constrained their consumption for a long time. Consumption can play an important role in stimulating economic growth only if we activate the potential rural market in time and successfully in West China.Based on the background mentioned above, the paper studies the rural residents' income and consumption in West China.This paper includes six chapters. The first chapter introduces the background of the thesis, research significance, study status and new development at home and abroad, etc. The second chapter first describes the development process and periodical characteristics of rural residents' income and consumption in West, then, studies the status and further analyzes the correlativity between income and consumption. The third chapter explains the consequence of rural residents' income and consumption increasing slowly, and discusses the factors affecting rural residents' income growth in West including general reason and special reason, and the factors constraining rural residents' consumption. The forth chapter puts forward the opportunities and challenges we are faced with to increase rural residents' income and consumption and forecasts the tendency of rural residents' income and consumption growth in West. The fifth chapter introduces a series of policies and models in favor of rural residents' income growth at abroad, and the inspiration of these policies and models. The sixth chapter probes how to establish a long-acting mechanism for increasing the rural residents' income and how to stimulate the rural residents' consumption growth in West in views of income system. In the link influcing income production, in order to speed the formation of rural residents' income and consumption, we should take the following measures: tape the potentialities in agriculture; reform and perfect farmland system; overall promoting quality of rural labor forces; adjust and optimize rural employment structure; create a better institutional environment for rural surplus-labor to seek jobs; strengthen agricultural protection and support. In the link influcing income formation, we should develop quickly rural market system and deepen grain circulation system reform to stimulate the formation of rural residents' income. In the link influcing income distribution, we should continuously reduce the rural resident's burden and narrow the residents' income gap to adjust the income distribution and release rural residents' latent consumption in West. In the link influcing income expense, we should establish the rural social security system, perfect rural consumption goods circulation system, and improve rural consumption environment to raise rural residents' consumption temptation in west.
