It's an indisputable fact that farm labor force would be engaged in non-agricultural industries during industrialization and urbanization of each country surrounding the world. However, because of the rigidity of dual-social structure and farm laborer being as main body of labor force, migrant behavior of farm laborer in China is different from in any other country, forming a special community called"migrant farm laborer", with the emergence of flexible employment means of"leave the field but remain in the village"and"leave the field and leave the village". The migrant results of farm laborer has not only created wealth for the state, increased income for rural areas, invigorated development of urban and rural areas, but also made great contributions to modernization of rural and urban areas in China as well. As a result, in order to seek a better solution to migrant behavior of farm laborer, it's of great significance to study the special social composition of"migrant farm laborer", investigate its cause, analyze its contribution to development of economy, examine the key factors restricting migrant behavior of farm laborer, predicting behavior trend and thus providing proposals for promoting orderly migration. The dissertation starts with researches in current situation of migrant behavior of farm laborer, analyzing some problems such as the singleness of migrant form and centralization of migrant orientation; after a whole examination of theories related to farm labor force, it is found that the opposition of viewpoints has caused the one-sidedness of understanding problems about migrant farm laborer, while pointing out that there is mutual action between the main body, social structure and main body's behavior, and there's a structured characteristics existing in migrant behavior of farm laborer. Therefore, it is suggested that, with an appliance of structuralization theory, migrant employment of farm laborer can be analyzed by means of considering structure and main body as two aspects of migrant behavior, depending on the mutual action of the three factors mentioned above. In order to get a further investigation of migrant behavior of farm laborer, theories of structuralization, finite rationality, relative deprivation and prospective earnings are first applied, indicating the impact of corresponding national policies, policies restriction, economic structure and natural endowment of main body on migrant behavior. Theoretical models have been founded based on the foundation above. A path of migrant behavior of farm laborer has been proposed, such as rational expectation, behavior selection and behavior trend. To make researches more scientific, econometric models are founded on behavior expectation, behavior selection and behavior trend. In 2006, surveys were carried out in 3000 households in 6 villages of 2 counties in Heilongjiang Province in China, collecting the data of migrant situation of farm labor force in the province from the year 2001 to 2006. On this basis, quantitative analysis and empirical discussion have been done towards migrant behavior of farm laborer. On researches of behavior expectation, it is analyzed that on account of the rigidity of dual-social structure caused by residence registration system in China, of the impact of land policy and of migrant farmer's family, farm laborer goes out work to maximize his revenue. On researches of behavior selection, through analysis on behavior selection of migrant farm laborer, it is proved that during his selection, especially migrant area selection, expected income and traveling expense are major concerns. In addition, it is found out that expected income and traveling expense are main factors that can explain migrant situation of farm laborer moving to in the middle and east developed regions in China and migrant obstruction of farm laborer in undeveloped families and regions. On analyses of his behavior selection, it is also found that the human capital presents low as a whole. For a shortage of organization and a surfeit of labor, migration factors that farm laborer receives training have a greater impact on his behavior selection than his age and gender. On researches of behavior trend, the protraction of migrant behavior is stated, and the trends of scale and direction and effect of migrant behavior are predicted.By analyzing the singleness of migrant form and the centralization of migrant orientation and employment insufficiency of farm laborer, it is suggested that by more scientific administration and guidance of the central government, through better training migrant farm laborer, depending on optimal deposition of market distribution, reforming Residence Registration System and Property Rights and enhancing of social security system, some problems about farmer laborer could be better solved to gain privileges on the job market, and to turn the huge farm population burden into an advantage.
