In new era of information, integration, automatization intelligence and agility, how to obtain long-term competitive advantages, which stem from products with characteristics of low cost, high quality, security, reliability, long lifetime and customer's satisfaction, has become the focus of, both domestic and oversea, researchers and practitioners in the field of quality. Along with the appearance of viewpoint of contin- uous improving quality and its success in real world, the process quality control (PQC) has become the advanced techniques of quality amelioration in enterprises. For the better implementation of quality pre-control, the intelligence and integration of PQC has become the key research areas of PQC.This paper focus on the methods and system of intelligent PQC, knowledge management (KM) based PQC, integrated PQC as well as its application in multi-var-ieties, small volume production. The followings are the main works and creations of this paper:(1) Research on the system and methods of intelligent PQC. This research includes mostly two parts: quality control of individual enterprise and dispersed network manufacturing system (DNMS). For the individual, the application of artificial neural networks (ANN), fuzzy system and rough set (RS) in the intelligent SPC was discussed, which result in the remaining problems of PQC currently were clear: forecast and diagnosis separation and perfection of ANN. Because of these problems, the intelligent integrated SPC system on Elman ANN was constructed for fusion of forecast and diagnosis. Research indicates it could conquer the shortcomings of the forward ANN while its precision in both forecast and diagnosis was enhanced greatly. For the DNMS, complexity of quality control in it was pointed out ,research on the quality control based the complexity theory was done so that the mechanism of form and evolution of complexity in DNMS was obtained, The result show that DNMS wh- ich is consisted of various units is more complex and uncontrollable than the individu- als.(2) Research on intelligent PQC based KM. The relevance between process quality and knowledge management is discussed in this section. In the first part, the characte- rustics of KM in quality management is analyzed. The PQC system with the view of knowledge management is proposed and two models: the value chain and maturity of PQC evaluation are set up. Then, expert system and knowledge base were combined for the creation of architecture and model of PQC expert system. The development of expert system is designed with VC++ and Microsoft Access which is applied in the production process of multi-varieties and small volume production subsequently.(3) Research on PQIIC. In this section, the concept, characteristics and economics of PQIIC is proposed while compared it with the traditional method of quality control. Then, the methods of PQIIC based development course are presented; the contents and methods of such integration are presented from three aspects: information, pro-cess and network, subsequently, these methods were applied in of production with multi-varieties, small volume. Finally, the PQIIC based extended connotation (PBEC) are put forth. PBEC is discussed, which involve four aspects: quality strategy, cost, p-rocess risk as well as environmental quality. Four theories: dynamic strategy manage-ment, PDCA, ecological manufacture and Hall theory were used in this discussion. At the same time, Quality strategy and cost were combined for the concrete implementat-ion step of the PQIIC system.
