Poultry industry grows fastest among animal husbandry in our country, with highest degree in marketlization and scale expension, while chicken industry is one of the important constituents of poultry industry in our country. As an industry chain, the each tache of meat chicken industry in our country is under development relatively,and the link between each tache is also loose. It is important to enhance the production, slaughter and distribution of meat chicken and organize each correlation industry to compose a whole industry chain, to face the competition internationally and domestically.The tightness of vertical coordination, such as product contract and vertical integration, has been proved to be the most efficient vertical coordination form. The farmer, as one principal part of production, lies in the most essential link of the production and circulation process in meat chicken industry.The link status with upriver and downriver corporation or organization will affect the efficiency of meat chicken industry directly, and will affect the competitive of meat chicken industry in international market. Therefore, the study on the vertical coordination relation of meat chicken industry in Jiangsu province from farmer 'sview, has important theoretical and practical profundness.The aim of the study enclose the current situation,performance and influenatial factor of vertical coordination in meat chicken industry in Jiangsu province. The full text is divided into 9 parts, the main studying contents and conclusions be illustrated as follows: Part 1: Research on the current situation of vertical coordination of meat chicken industry in Jiangsu provinceBy investigatation of 9 counties (town) of the north,middle part and south in Jiangsu province, such as Lmhe,Lishuo,Taicang,Changzhou,Haimen,Jiangya,aixing,Lianshui,Pizhou, the research shows that the vertical coordination form of meat chicken industry in Jiangsu province currently has spot market, market contract, cooperatives, production contract, vertical integration. market contract and vertical integration is not the main vertical coordination form which has be adopted by the farmer, while spot market,cooperatives and production contract are the main vertical coordination form.Part 2: Comparision on the performance of the main vertical coordination forms in meat chicken industryUnder the restricting condition, farmers select vertical coordination forms according to the maxim principle of expect performance. Active performance of all kinds of vertical coordination forms will be the important element when the farmers judge and select vertical coordiation forms. Therefore, this essay compares and analyses the performance of main vertical coordination forms of meat chicken industry in Jiangsu Province by making use of OLS theory. It's found that: First, compared with cooperation community and market trade, the performance of production contract is greater. By average, the income of farmers who join in the production contract increases by 20,000 to 30,000 than those join in the market trade and cooperation community. Second, the part reason for the influence of production contract on the input performance is that production contract provides all kinds of good-quality service for farmers.Part 3: Analysis of farmers' choice on vertical coorperation forms and the influence elementFarmer is an important tache of the vertical coordination chain in meat chicken industry and its choice will influence the development of vertical coordination of meat chicken industry directly. This study makes use of the mutinominal logit model in analysing the influential factors of farmer's choice on vertical coordination in meat chicken industry of Jiangsu province. The results indicates that: compared with spot market, head of family autonomy, number of sell chicken times, family pure income, relation with chicken trader etc. show negative influence to production contract and cooperatives; farming scale, people number of keeping chicken, difficulty degree of selling chicken, no-farm income, relation with loaner, risk attitude etc. show positive influence to production contract and cooperatives.Part 4: Analysis on the trend of vertical coordination of farmer in meat chicken industryFor further understanding of the reason of the choice behavior of farmer in vertical coordination, the study compares the present situation and the farmer's willingness of vertical coordination in meat chicken industry of Jiangsu province, and further analysis the reason of difference existing between them and the influence factor of farmer's strengthening or weakening the vertical coordination degree. The results indicates that: (1) trend together effect, meat chicken species, the number of keeping chicken, market type, family income kept chicken, risk preference etc. are the main reasons which cause the difference of current situation and willing choice. (2) trend together effect, personal preference (such as initiative) etc. are the factors that cause farmer to weaken the vertical coordination choosing degree; while farming scale, special service function of product contract and cooperatives, funds increased in store etc. are the factors that cause the farmer to strengthen the vertical coordination choose degree.
