How about the relationship of the value and uniqueness of core employees (Ces) is? How about the relationship of the characteristic of CEs and core competence and efficiency of hi-tech firms is? In the bases of related heritage data, this research discusses the concept and correlative theories and practices of hi-tech firms; concept, characteristic, value and uniquess of core employees; competence theory and efficiency theory. According to the knowledge based characteristic of hi-tech firm, composing of core competence of hi-tech firms and characteristic of CEs, this research think that in the hi-tech firms, core employees is associated with very valuable and very unique human capita, and core employees is associated with composing factors of core competence, and core employees is associated with the firm's efficiency. So, this research proposes the relationship model of the characteristic of CE and core competence and efficiency of hi-tech firms, and proposes seven hypothesises, and validate these hypothesises by demonstration method.This research receives data by questionnaire. By the sorting of related heritage data of the core employees and high-tech firm's core competence and efficiency, assisting with the substantial evidence investigate research of analytical method, and CEs Value, CEs uniqueness, innovation, strategic vision, culture, employee potential, flexible design, quality, product diversity, customer loyalty are principal axis for questionnaire designing, and by inquiring specialist, investigating in advance, and statistical analysis, this reasearch insures the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. This research selects the hi-tech firms of Hubei province, Hunan province and Henan province as the research object, collects a mass of data, and validates the validity and reliability of the data by statistical analysis.By validation of the proposing hypothesis by statistical analysis and data envelope analysis, this research discovers that uniqueness is the key factor to enhance the competitive potential of CEs. If hi-tech firms want to get more competence, they must possess CEs with high value and uniqueness. CEs always have high value, while it not implies high competence to possess CE with high value. CEs' high uniqueness is key to the firm's competitive advantage. To obtain high competence, CEs must possess not only high value but high uniqueness. CE who possess high value and uniqueness is more efficient than CEs who possess high value but low uniqueness. Therefore, the most competitive firm is the most efficient firm.
