Dalian AP Company is an export-oriented incorporated company that specializes in seafood processing and trading. It was formerly a branch of a state-owned corporation and now changed to the current Dalian AP Company in the process of transforming state-owned enterprises into stock companies at the end of the last century. Since the outbreaking financial crisis in2008, the international economy became steadily worse, in which period, demands for products are declining and the export-oriented seafood processing enterprises are facing severe challenges.As we all know, seafood processing export enterprises are mainly supported by individual or private enterprise that generally being short of advanced technical equipments and weak at process capacity, which make them less competitive in the global market and therefore, lead much seafood processing export-oriented enterprises to trouble in2012. The causes of the status are manifold, but in the last analysis, it is due to the reason that the internal factors—culture, personals, technology, management, etc.—can not develop well with the outer factors such as political and economy, etc., i.e. lacking in competitive edge. Therefore, to built and promote the enterprise core competitive power and keep the competitive edge have become a realistic and serious problem in front of the managers of Dalian AP Company.Well, this paper mainly includes the following five parts:The first chapter explains the research background and significance of the topic, moreover, defines the status of the theory of core competitiveness, research content and frame structure.The second chapter summarizes the developing status of the theory of core competitiveness both here and abroad, and makes an assay of various theories about it at present.The third chapter analyzes the internal and external conditions of the Dalian AP Company, its advantage and disadvantage, and the importance of core competitiveness towards the enterprise development. Furthermore, it also introduces the macro-environment, industry environment and internal environment that Dalian AP Company is facing now.The forth chapter evaluates the core competitiveness of Dalian AP Company.Then, starting from the current status of Dalian AP Company, the last chapter studies the core competitiveness by way of Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model and SWOT, etc., and discusses the opportunities, threats, advantage and disadvantage of Dalian AP Company in detail. On this basis, this paper makes an analysis on the internal value chain and key abilities of Dalian AP Company. Linking theory with practice presents, it presents three component parts—operating capability, innovation capability and enterprise culture—of the core competitiveness of Dalian AP Company.At last, the paper introduces the promotion strategy of the core competitiveness of Dalian AP Company, such as raising the resources organizational capacity by solid operating foundation and go-ahead marketing strategy, concentrating on optimizing the product structure and improving the technical skills, targeting at the enlargement of storage and transportation scale and enhancing the storage facilities, moreover, adopting advanced concepts to promote the management theories of enterprises.Through the above analyses, it is believable that this paper can be an aid to built and promote the core competitiveness of Dalian AP Company, which also gives an added impetus to the long-term sustainable development of the enterprise.
