In recent years,large-scale regional tourism transport flow brings enormous pressure tothe public passenger transportation in China. It is still a major obstacle factor to regional tourismdevelopment that the development of transport lags behind the changes in tourism demand.Facing the growing regional tourism flow, the tourism effectiveness of the use of public transportshould be enhanced, the tourism transport infrastructure should be rationally allocated andimproved, and the convenience and comfort of the regional tourism transport also should beimproved. They are some theoretical and practical propositions needed to study in the progressof building barrier-free tourism zone and integration of regional tourism. On the basis of comprehensively analyzing the domestic and international researchliterature about tourism transportation, this paper develops a integrated model of tourism andtransportation using Cube Voyger from the perspective of human geography, geography oftourism, transportation theory and regional economics, etc. Then, tourist transportation in theWalt Disney World (WDW) is analyzed by the model. As a result, the importance ofinfrastructure planning is revealed in the regional tourism transportation organizing.Aftersummarizing the experience of WDW,the paper takes Yangtze River Delta as an example toexplore the optimum of regional tourism transportation organizing and management. This dissertation is divided into eight chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction. It mainly expatiates on the studying background, themeaning which the thesis studies, domestic and international relevant research, the train ofthought and framework of this text.Chapter 2 is to examine the theoretical basis. It mainly explores the related theories withregional tourism organization and management, including the theory of interregional labor andtrade division (such as cost advantage theory, factor endowment theory),the regional spatialorganization theory, the core-periphery theory,four-step model theory, integrated model ofland use and transportation, the central place theory of traffic principle, theories related totransport network and sustainable theoy, etc.Chapter 3 is the transportation modes organizing analysis.First,we analyze thetransporation organizing model of regional tourism based on the summarizing the characters andcurrent conditions of different transporation modes.Different organizing models fitting todifferent scale are developed according to the analysis of models in large, medium and small scaleregions. Then, the transportation management system of regional tourism is analyzed.Thefunctions of this system are explored from the aspects of system structure and composition.Chapter 4 is the study of transportation management strategies. This chapter studies thetransportation management strategies of regional tourism from the aspects of space, time andevents.First,we analyze organizing characteristics and principles of regional tourism'stransportation organizing.Based on that, transportation modes organizing are studied.Second,it analyzes the time characters and influence of regional tourism transporation organizing andmanagement. At last, this paper put some attentions on the realizationof regional tourismtransportation organizing and management in time and space dimension.Chapter 5 is to establisha integrated model of regional tourism and transportation.Integrated transportation, integrated model of land use and transportation, the characters oftourism land and the relations of regional tourism and transportation are analyzed. In the end, aintegrated regional tourism and transportation model is developed using four-step model andrealized by Cube Voyger.Chapter 6 is the overseas case studies.A well-known destination,Walt Disney World atOralando,is selected. The paper analyzes its current conditions and strategies of transportationorganizing and management. Then it figures out the transporation conditions of WDW region byusing the traffic analysis zones (TAZs) selected from the Florida D-5 Model. This paper predictsthe tourism conditions in 2025 and put the data into the model to look for the transportationinfluences of tourism development.Meanwhile,it analyzes the status in quo of transportationmodes organizing and gives out some advices about integrating the transportation modes. At last, the transportation organizing experience of WDW region is summarized.Chapter 7 is the demestic case studies. This paper selects the 11 provinces in the YangtzeRiver Basin as the research objects. The paper mainly analyzes the status of the regional tourismintegration and transportation integration in this region and conducts a detailed analysis ofinfrastructure planning and transportation modes organizing. In the end,it gives out somecountermeasures and suggestions to optimize the regional tourism transportation organizationand management in Yangtze River Basin.Chapter 8 is the eonehsions. This chapter summarizes four conclusions reached in theresearch of tourism transport disposition and give out some questions needed further study.
