Under the influence of increasingly notable globalization and informalization, modern logistics develops rapidly in developed countries like the United States, Japan and some European countries, and it becomes the concern of Chinese government, Chinese public and experts as well. The logistics of has been developed for nearly 30 years after the concept of logistics was introduced to China from Japan in 1978, and it has stepped into a new stage of rational, practical and rapid development, so the present problem pressing for solution is how to make a sound judgment on the logistics level or logistics competitiveness in a certain area. As a completely new study subject, the researches concerning regional logistics competitiveness has won more and more worldwide concern from domestic and overseas experts, and gradually becomes the hot issue of research. In the light of it, this thesis takes regional regional logistics competitiveness as study subject and makes a systematic and profound study of its theoretical basis, formation mechanism, dissipation characteristics, evaluation method, identification pattern, etc., and proves the practicability and validity of the pattern. This thesis has 7 chapters all together. After extensive literature reading both in Chinese and English, the author is going to review the current research situation of regional regional competitiveness, regional logistics competitiveness, entropy theory, dissipation structure, evaluation method, etc. and make a description of the typical problems in present research, so the study target and direction becomes quite clear and reasonable technical study direction and thought are within reach.Second, the author is going to analyze the precondition of competition formation, i.e. the competitive act only occurs between two or more individuals or organizations, and the resources they share are scarce and have effective competitive mechanism. After giving a definition and explanation to regional logistics competitiveness, the author establishes internet-based static and dynamic concept patterns, studies the characteristics and formation mechanism of regional logistics competitiveness and puts forward its hard-imitativeness and indivisibility in particular, which lays a solid foundation for systematic further studies on the internal structure and characteristics of regional logistics competitiveness.Besides, the author is going to give a qualitative analysis of the dissipation structure characteristics of regional logistics competitiveness and he points out at the same time that this structure is dynamic and phased, which is the main reason why the author will choose it to describe regional logistics competitiveness. While from the quantitative perspective, the author sets up a dissipation structure pattern and generalized ecological pattern and analyzes and proves the dissipation structure characteristics of regional logistics competitiveness based on which the study of the developing process of separate regional and multi-regional regional logistics competitiveness are being carried out.Third, the author sets up the entropy pattern of regional logistics competitiveness which primarily reflects the corresponding relation between the development of this system and the overall entropy change, i.e., to what degree the development and the internal structure of the system are ordered is resulted from the system entropy change. Through scientific selection of numerous index, the system entropy structure of regional logistics competitiveness is designed and the 3D-based system entropy evaluation model is set up too, including space composition model and space measurement model, which attribute the regional logistics competitiveness to the effective combination of overall regional logistics competitiveness and the regional logistics competitiveness in logistics pivotal cities at all levels in this region.Based on the life cycle theory, the author also makes a systematic study of the five developmental stages of regional logistics competitiveness, i.e. the incubation stage, growth stage, maturity stage, decline stage and regeneration stage. He points out that the logistics competitiveness development in any region is composed of the five stages, and there are three alienations in the process of development, i.e. reversion, prematurity and abortion. After that, the author is going to summarize the characteristic overflow information at different developmental stages, set up the vague stage identification pattern which is based on characteristic reflection theory, achieve the identification of the developmental stages of regional logistics competitiveness and guarantee the objectivity and scientificalness of decisions.Fourth, the author employs the evaluation and identification patterns to carry out systematic empirical study of the physical distribution competitive power in Southwest area after the brief analysis of the social and economic environment and the development situation of physical distribution in Southwest china. In addition, the comparative research of the contribution of secondary physical distribution pivotal cities(Guiyang, Kunming, Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanning) to the overall physical distribution competitive power has been carried out and scientific and objective conclusions have been reached to confirm the reasonability and practicability of the patterns set up.Finally, the thesis analyzes the results achieved by the author and puts forward the assumption of further study, which mainly includes the strategic study of the developmental stages of regional logistics competitiveness, the intelligence identification study of the developmental stages of regional logistics competitiveness and the predictable study of the developmental tendency of the regional logistics competitiveness. The three study areas clearly point out the directions for further study.
