The Impact Of Transportation To Regional Economy Development

Transportation is a basic industry of the national economy ,which provides an important support for the development of economy and society. It has been recognized that transportation is an important factors to the regional economy development, and the relationship between the transportation and regional economy is an important question for the economist and geographer. The revitalization of northeast old industrial base creates new needs to the development of transport infrastructure, so this paper select the Jilin Province as the object of study, and uses regional economic geography and economics perspectives and methods to research the relationship between transport and economy. This paper is trying to analyze the theory of transportation and economy development by the historical an economic perspective, find out the the interaction and rule between them. I Take Jilin Province as an object to studies the role of transortation in the development of province economy development, and gives some suggest to solve the current problem and satisfy the need in future.This paper is organized as follow:Chapter one is introduction. In this chapter I define the research question and background, review the related study all over the world, set up the analysis method and framework of the whole paper.Chapter two analyzes the history and rule of transportation development. By the study of properties of transportation, I find out the transportation's pathd ependency of the regional economy developmen and build the foundation for the research of the interaction mechanism between the transportation and economy development.Capter three analyszes the impact of transpotation to regional economy from three aspects.In this chapter I foucs on the relationship between transportation and regional economu growth,industrial structure adjustment agglomeration and space location,and evolvement of the regional space stucuture.Capter four is emprcail analysis of the relationship between regional economy development and transportation in Jilin province.Through the model of Econometrics and new economic geography,I point out the role that transportation playded in the development of the the whole province economy and space structure.In chapter five I provide some suggestions and reasonable strategies about regional transportation developent in jilin province.By the analusis of opportunity and challenge in future, I hope the suggestions will be helpful for jilin provinceThe conclusions are made finally.I point the contribution and shortage of this paper.
