Under the international context of dealing with climate change, this paper summarizes the impacts of climate change on agriculture, the status quo of global carbon market and some serious environmental problems result from agriculture activities. And then from the aspect of sustainable development agriculture, introduces the he process of developing agricultural GHG emission reduction project by taking Xinjiang and Sichuan project as example, analysis how China could actively explore the utilization of market in the agricultural GHG offset project to realize agriculture sectors’GHG emission reduction potential and find the way of agriculture combats climate change. The main conclusions are showed as follows:(1) The implementation of Xinjiang and Sichuan agriculture GHG offset projects successfully revealed the feasibility of developing voluntary agriculture GHG offset project.(2)Based the offset monitoring and accounting work, the adoption of drip irrigation could reduce GHG emission, and the amount of unit reduction is about0.19-0.22t CO2e/Mu, which is a kind of new technology of saving water, saving fertilizer and saving energy and reducing emission.(3)Haloxylon ammodendron is an adaptable shrub that is indigenous to parts of Xinjiang, Haloxylon ammodendron planting can help to reduce GHG emission by way of increasing carbon stored in biomass and soil to prevent desertification, the amount of unit reduction is about0.38-0.42t CO2c/Mu.(4)Household biogas is a suitable technology developed in rural area to reducing fossil fuel consumption, curb pollution and reduce waste; meanwhile, household biogas can reduce GHG emission. A8m3biogas digester could reduce GHG emission of0.40-0.53t CO2e/a in Xinjiang area, but in Sichuan province, the GHG emission amount is about1.35-1.75t CO2e/a, there are a big difference between two places.(5)Precise fertilizer use is the process of fertilizer under the guidance of scientific application of fertilizer formula, precise fertilizer use is able to balance the supply of various nutrients and improve crop yields, meet the needs to reduce the amount of fertilizer and reduce the cost.
