Roadheader is the one of the main equipment in roadway excavation and coal-rock exploitation process, whose reliability is very important. This paper carries out the following research work, from roadheader’s dynamic reliability.Roadheader’s cutting head aided design software has been compiled by MATLAB and EXCEL, the problems of cutting head parametric modeling; cutting area and squareness calculation have been solved. This software can generate cutting diagram, cutting performance curve plots and provide load texts for dynamic reliability analysis. Through the comparison of cutting performance of multi scheme, it can find the optimal design scheme for the cutting head.Based on virtual prototype technology, the rigid-flexible coupling models of roadheader have been built. Dynamics simulations under different working load conditions have been done and key part’s stress information has been got, the membership function of key part’s stress and reliability degree has been built. Taking different working conditions and relative reliability degree as neural network’s training samples of roadheader key part’s reliability degree, a new method combined artificial neural networks and virtual prototype technology to analysis the reliability has been proposed, which can achieve roadheader’s dynamic reliability prediction under new conditions, and it also obtains the roadheader’s optimum horizontal swing speed. The problems of difficult to obtain sample by simple using neural networks and heavy workload and long simulation time by simple using virtual prototyping technology have been solved.The planetary gear strength checking software has been compiled by using MATLAB and EXCEL. Take the corresponding gear contact normal force from roadheader’s dynamic simulation result as the input of the software, which can achieve gear tooth surface’s contact stress and root’s bending stress checking through the calculation of this software. The shortages of unable to determine the gear force in traditional analysis, unable to solve bending stress and solve contact stress for a long time by using the finite element software have been compensated.The researches of these key technologies provide new ideas and methods for mining machinery dynamic reliability design and performance optimization, and these researches also have theoretical significance and strong engineering application value.
