In the most region of our country, the arterial highway becomes network little by little.The post-evaluation of highway construction projects in the past were mostly based on a singleroad and ignored the study on relationships between roads and characteristics of the arterialhighway network post-evaluation. So it is necessary to study highway network post-evaluation inhighway network, in order to find out the existing problems in the planning and operationperiod, and provides experiences for a new round of planning and construction, then enhancesthe adaptability of highway traffic on social and economic development.In the network perspective, this paper describes the basic contents and defines the focusof this research.We highlight the characteristics of arterial highway network post-evaluationby comparing the differences between arterial highway network post-evaluation and a singleroad post-evaluation.In the study of arterial highway network planning post-evaluation, we mainly study thepost-evaluation of arterial highway network planning and development forecast, thepost-evaluation of arterial highway network development scale, the post-evaluation of arterialhighway network layout optimization. In the study of the post-evaluation of arterial highwaynetwork planning and development forecast, we predict the development of regional socialeconomic, transportation and traffic volume scientifically by using the scene analysis method.In the study of the post-evaluation of arterial highway network development scale, weoptimize the grade structure by using of multi-objective programming method. In the study ofthe post-evaluation of arterial highway network layout optimization, we put forward layoutoptimization method of the important degree based on fairness which contributes to realizethe balanced layout optimization of highway network.In the study of arterial highway network operation post-evaluation, based on thedifferences between a single road and the highway network, mainly discusses thepost-evaluation of economical and social impact and the post-evaluation of arterial highwaynetwork space layout development impact. In the network perspective, in the study of arterialhighway network operation post-evaluation, mainly discusses the post-evaluation of national economic benefits and the influence of the convergence highway network on thetransportation hubs. The former one calculates the saving of the travel time and time value ofthe passengers and the transport cost, by choosing the optimal travel path based on the nodechooses. The later one calculates the service area and coverage of transportation hubs onhighway network based on the longest time which is acceptable by residents. Thus analysisand evaluate the accessibility of highway network and the coverage of all transport modes. Inthe network perspective, the study of the post-evaluation of arterial highway network spacelayout development impact, mainly discusses the fractal dimension matching degree betweenthe arterial highway network and the town net, by calculating their fractal dimensionmatching degree value to analysis their main contradiction, and then guide the layoutdevelopment of the highway network to make highway network and town net more closely,achieving optimal matching effect.Finally, use the above theoretical approach to analysis the highway network ofZhangjiakou city.
