Recent years, the highway gradually extend to the mountain area. Restricted by the topographic and geologic condition, long, steep slopes and highway bridges are very common in the highway in mountainous area. In addition, with the effect of other factors such as heavy load, overloading, and channel traffic, early diseases of highway including rutting, lapse, upheaval and washboard-pavement are easily to be detected, which affect the safety and traffic capacity of the road greatly. Therefore, combined with the comparison with evaluation methods of high temperature shear performance for asphalt mixture and self-developed equipment, the main research work of this paper are as follows:Through comparing the strengths and weaknesses of evaluation methods of high temperature shear performance for asphalt mixture which are commonly used at home and abroad, the multi-function road material penetration tester was developed which can fit for different kinds of test contents and adjust loading rate and the test temperature precisely. Uniaxial penetration test combining with unconfined compressive strength was chose to analyze the shear strength of asphalt mixture.Through analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of different evaluation methods of interlaminar shear for bridge deck structure, HS-SS I interlaminar shear tester was developed and the interlaminar shear test method was determined to evaluate the shear properties of bridge deck structure.In the third chapter, through analyzing the rules of shear stress distribution and the influence law of shear strength parameters of asphalt mixtures under material components factors such as different raw material (asphalt type, aggregate type), the maximum size of the aggregate, gradation type and additive type and non-material composition factors such as loading rate and compaction degree, a foundation for the design method of asphalt mixture based on the shear requirement was set up.In the fourth chapter, with the setting of mechanical modal for high friction interface (exposed stone interface), based on the analysis of mechanical properties and the failure mechanism of ridge deck structure, the interlaminar shear test method was chose to study the influencing factors of the stability of bridge deck structure and the influence laws of different interlayer contact conditions and different waterproof material were obtained which lay a foundation for the interlayer stability design method for the bridge deck structure.In the fifth chapter, the design method of asphalt mixture based on the shear requirement and appropriate design standards were proposed which were verified in test sections. Also, the interlayer stability design method and corresponding design standards for the bridge deck structure were put forward.
