Traditional village protection was considered as a very important part in culturalheritage. However, globalization brought more challenges to protection planning andthe crisis were increasingly serious. The concept of rural planning in China was newlydeveloped. The "village&g&town" was a long-term study habits, which made thetraditional village protection system remain in theoretical. In order to promote theprotection process, studies was in great necessary to form a comprehensive overviewof the existing planning outcomes. From which, valuable feedbacks and referencescould in contribute to later conservation planning.The paper stated that protection goal could be in both long-term and short-termaccording to studies on heritage protections. Conservation planning was short-termprotection goal. The paper analyzed forty conservation planning cases in Guangfuarea. The contents of these cases were summarized into three types. The paper alsosummarized all kinds of terms, methods, charts and universal problems in these cases.The paper was focusing on four villages in Guangfu area by analyzing,objectively and subjectively, the implementation of the conservation plan.Subjectively, the four villages were chosen as four common conservation plans:assistance management, joint management, tenant involvement and socialinvolvement. The paper summarized advantages and disadvantages in four cases. Itprovided a thinking of possible forms of conservation and also a guide andenhancement to the village protection. Objectively, the outcome of four cases werestudied to draw a list of valuable experiences. The paper analyzed reasons of invalidand valid actions in protection implementation. The paper summarized effectivemethods which should be encouraged and sought for innovations. By learning theuseful experiences in local protections, future planning could be enlightened.Finally the paper used the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method to establish the conservation implementation effect evaluationsystem. The evaluation system hold four aspects: protection effect, social effect,economic effect and environment effect. It enabled a evaluation form multi dimension and provided tools for monitoring the village protection. The four village were asexamples to verify the feasibility of the evaluation system. Feedbacks providedevidence for improving the preparation and implementation of planning.
