Research On The Mechanism And Approaches Of Synergetic Management Over Complex Construction Project

Based on complex systems theory，synergetics, game theory and the analysis ofthe complexity of complex construction project management system, the paperresearches the mechanism and approaches of synergetic management over all theparticipants involved in a complex construction project in three aspects, whichincludes the solutions on how the major participants’ goal differentiation beeliminated and major projects goals be made optimal synergetically, how theorganizational culture which facilitates decreasing the harmful influences imposed onsynergetic management be build, and how information exchange and communicationamong major participants get smoother. Over all, there are five innovative points inthe paper.·Based on complex systems theory, the paper argues that goal differentiationbecause of self-interest, culture diversity rooted on different believes and values,and poor information exchange and communication among major participants are thethree key factors that influencing synergetic management in a complex constructionproject. Furthermore, the paper innovatively proposes that goal consistency,synergetic culture, and information sharing are the order parameters in synergeticmanagement systems.·Of sociology, psychology, organizational behavior theory perspectives, themotives, expectations and goals-order of the four major participants, the owner, thedesigner, the supervisor and the contractor, are analysized. And the time-costoptimization model of the owner and the contractor are build up. Furthermore, basedon game theory, the time optimization model between the owner and the contractor isalso established.· The influential factors in organizational culture by which impacting onsynergetic management is analysized, furthermore, under the situation of synergeticmanagement, the major key values in synergetic culture are picked out and theconstruction mechanism of synergetic culture is also proposed.·The influences that information sharing imposed on synergetic management isanalysized. Based on computer and information technologies, the paper arguesBuilding Information Model, Multi-Dimension CAD, and Project Information Portalare important technologies and tools that facilitates synergetic management inconstruction project.The barriers in communication and the characteristics of effective communication are figured out. Furthermore, the communication skills arealso proposed.Through questionnaire, nowadays in the construction projects in China,synergetic management degree of key participants and of departments in a participant,the status of relationships, hierarchy level, management style, information exchangeand communication level and the conflict reasons are figured out. Furthermore, thecanonical correlation between synergetic management degree and the key factors thatthe paper proposes is confirmed.
