Assembly process planning is an important link of aircraft manufacturing, directlyaffecting production precision, manufacturing cost and cycle. With the development ofModel-Based Definition, three-dimensional softwares are used to do the feasibilitysimulation in aircraft assembly process planning. However, due to the neglect of theeffects of the assembly process to ensure the assembly precision, a lot of problems, suchas repair and rework, are caused in the implementation phase of assembly process.Aiming at these problems, based on the analysis of the precision information’sapplication in the process of the assembly process preparation phase, the technology ofassembly process planning and optimization based on precision control is researched.Aircraft assembly process planning and optimization technology system based onprecision control is constructed. Based on the integrated assembly information modeland precision control, key issues of assembly process planning and simulation, processoptimization are systematically discussed. The main research work and method are asfollows:(1) The method and architecture of aircraft assembly process planning andoptimization based on precision control were analyzed. Firstly, by analyzing theproblems of existing aircraft assembly process design method, aircraft assembly processplanning method based on precision control was proposed. Based on it, the process ofaircraft assembly process planning based on precision control was analyzed. Secondly,by analyzing the characteristics of aircraft assembly process planning technology basedon precision control, the architecture of aircraft assembly process planning based onprecision control was built. Finally, the key technologies that the paper researched wereanalyzed preliminarily.(2) A Model-Based Definition (MBD) integrated assembly information model wasbuilt. Firstly, based on the application of MBD, an integrated assembly informationmodel was defined according to information’s source. Secondly, the composition andstructure of assembly process MBD model and precision MBD model were discussed;and the entire elements information of assembly process was defined. Then, to facilitateassembly precision simulation and assembly process optimizing, assembly deviationsource’s concept was proposed; and the assembly deviation source information modelwas established.(3) Aircraft assembly process planning and simulation method based on precision control was proposed. Firstly, according to the characteristics of the aircraft assemblyprocess preparation, MBOM was divided into top MBOM and bottom MBOM; and theassembly process planning was divided into top-level process planning and detailedprocess design. Secondly, the concepts of assembly constraints feature, assemblyconstraints group, and assembly operand were proposed; assembly process simulationbased on assembly operand was implemented; and assembly process delineation methodbased on the timing size was proposed. Thirdly, precision simulation technology wasintroduced into the assembly process simulation; the abstract representation method ofassembled deviation transmission information was researched; and then the assemblyprecision simulation method was proposed based on mapping between the entireelements information of assembly process and assembled deviation transmissioninformation. Finally, the instance of slats component assembly process planning andsimulation based on precision control has been established.(4) Aircraft assembly process optimization method based on precision control wasproposed. Firstly, Based on the analysis of major factors caused aircraft assemblydeviation, the principle of assembly process optimization based on precision controlwas proposed. Assembly deviation source sensitivity is an important factor of assemblydeviation accumulated. In order to calculate the assembly deviation source sensitivity,deviation transmission paths based on part datum reference frame andmulti-dimensional assembly vector loop model based on assembly constraints werediscussed. And the method of assembly deviation source sensitivity calculation wasproposed based on multi-dimensional deviation vector loop. Then, assembly processoptimization based on precision control was achieved by using tolerance model basedon manufacturing capacity and assembly deviation source sensitivity. Finally, take acertain wing flaps rocker assembly as an example, the assembly process optimizationbased on precision control has been analyzed.(5) Aircraft assembly process planning and optimization system based on theprecision control was developed. According to application on an aircraft componentassembly process, the theory, technology and system functionality were verified.
