Currently, because most asphalt mixtures can’t solve the contradictions between low temperature cracking resistance and high temperature rutting resistance of the asphalt pavement effectively, so this thesis conducted a special research on the Wide Temperature Range Modified Asphalt(WTRMA) and Mixture(WTRMAM) which base on balanced performances of high and low temperature to effectively solve the contradictions between the high and low temperature performances of the asphalt pavement. The main contents include:1,Research on the WTRMA and the mechanism of it which base on balanced performances of high and low temperature.First developed modified asphalts in different proportions and different dosage, analyze their high and low temperature performance.Then put formulations of WTRMA which base on balanced performances of high and low temperature according to the test results. Then analyze the mechanism and the basic properties of WTRMA.2, Designed new test methods and evaluation indexes for the high and low temperature performance of the WTRMA.In view of the existing test methods and evaluation indexs system can’t evaluate high and low temperature performance of modified asphalt accurate, this research proposes and expounds the high temperature flow test and low temperature tensile test and the corresponding index system to evaluate WTRMA’s high and low temperature performance. Then constitutive modeling, curve fitting were performed for WTRMA’s low temperature tensile.3, Research the construction performances of WTRMA.After research the construction performances of WTRMA such as construction viscosity-temperature and high temperature storage aging, some reasonable construction suggestions were put forward.4, Research on WTRMAM which base on balanced performances of high and low temperature.First elaborated the grading design method which based on the state of mineral aggregate interlock most closely and proposed the process to determine the aggregate ratio complete and proposed an improved method to determine the Bulk density of mix specimen-brush wax. Finally, the road performances such as high and low temperature performance, water-stable performance of WTRMAM were analyzed.5, Research on WTRMAM’s Mechanical Properties.First WTRMAM’s dynamic modulus of uniaxial compression and indirect tensile were studied.Then WTRMAM’s viscoelastic analyzed by the uniaxial static load compressive creep test.6, Paved roads to verification WTRMA and WTRMAM which base on balanced performances of high and low temperature.
