When the need for paved road became a nationwide requirement, the semi-rigidbaseasphalt pavement(SBAP) applied very widely as an ideal pavement structure in China.In addition, the construction conditions varies considerably for the different regions in Sichuan province that made the pavement design and construction become more difficult. To prevent the SBAP distress in early service stage as well as the durability in Sichuan province, the researches of durable SBAP as well as the design methods that coordinated structure and material, the design standards of asphalt mixture dynamic stability and intensity suit to different regions in Sichuan, are considered to be important guiding significancesapply in different regions of Sichuan province.In this research, the investigation of climatic conditions, pavement structures and service state have been taken to propose the division of climate regions in Sichuan province. The investigation also found that the rutting in SBAP surface layers and cracks in base layers are contribute to the major SBAP distress, especially in its early service stage.The mechanics characters and fatigue characters of cement-stabilized aggregate were studied by vibration molding method. The statistical relation between mathematical model of tensile increasing and mechanics indexes is analyzed and then fatigue equation are derived from it. Design parameters are proposed to improve the reliability of SBAP structure design. In addition, the design standard of cement-stabilized aggregate was studied and the framework type was proposed that can reduce the cracks in the cement-stabilized. On the above basis, the design method for cement-stabilized aggregate has been put forward to improve SBAP cracking resistance.The models have been built to predict the rutting by indoor rutting test and mechanical response analysis. The rutting predicts method is proposed by the way of MEPDG nonlinear superposition. The dynamic stability criteria also determined for the asphalt mixture that set up a relationship among the dynamic stability criteria, temperature, traffic volume, pavement layers and vehicle speed.Finally, the integrated design method of pavement structure and material that mitigate the cracks in base pavement and rutting in surface layer has been proposed and illustrated base on the defects analyzed from SBAP design method in China. Moreover, the standard value design of cement-stabilized pavement in different soil subgrade and dynamic stability criteria in different asphalt pavement layer regions have been recommended in this research that will provide a reference for SBAP design in Sichuan province.
