In terms of the carrying capacity calculation and assessment, there are several differences in the following ways between high-speed railway and existing lines. Firstly, differently from existing lines’ train operating modes, high-speed railway use CTCS-2 or CTCS-3,Which can satisfy the requirements of the operating speed of more than 350km/h and minimum train interval of 3min. Secondly, differently from all day train operation of existing lines, vertical rectangular skylight mode of high-speed railway lead to that trains can’t run in skylight time. Thirdly, there are time-dependent characteristics of passengers’ travel time of high-speed railway, while trains can run on existing linesall day. So different train operating plan should be designed for different period to satisfy passengers’ travel demand and avoid waste of transport capacity. Finally, the main purpose of existing lines’ train operation is to solve problems of passenger travel, and to satisfy more passengers’ travel demand as much as possible. But passengers of high-speed railway pay more attention to travel services, especially travel demand for rapidity and punctuality.From the above, we know that the methods of existing railways capacity calculation and assessment are not suitable for high-speed railway. The article studies capacity calculation and assessment methods that is more suitable for high-speed railway, which mainly use good idea of existing railways’capacity calculation methods for reference and combine high-speed railway’s characteristics. Main content includes:(1)Analysis of main influence factors of high-speed railway carrying capacityThe article analyses main influence factors of high-speed railway carrying capacity, which include interval between two trains, additional starting/stopping time of trains, train operating plan and maintenance time. And put forward quantitative methods to measure impact of these factors. Besides, the article pays much attention to study high-speed railway arrival time interval calculation methods and influence parameters based on CTCS-3, and quantize the impact of every influence parameters for arrival time interval. The conclusion is that we can calculate high-speed railway carrying capacity elaborately by redistricting station throat, which deduces influence of arrival time interval.(2)Calculation methods of high-speed railway’s station carrying capacityThe article pus forward calculation methods of station carrying capacity. Combined with station switch group, signal system, track circuit and station yard topological structure, the method can calculate carrying capacity elaborately by redistricting station zone and shortening arrival time interval. Besides, the article studies maximum capacity based on random train distribution and given train operating structure, by analyzing best sequence of different speed and different activity type and taking passenger service index into account. The conclusion by analyzing Jinan West Railway Station’s example of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway is that train arriving time interval of train with speeds reaching 300 km/h and train with speeds reaching 250 km/h can be reduced to 3.1min and 2.7min.The results of these two carrying capacity calculation methods can both reaching 17 trains per hour. That proves the methods can maximize train number in station unit time in the condition of meeting transportation organization real condition and passenger service demands.(3) Calculation methods of high-speed railway’s passenger section carrying capacityCombining with deduction coefficient method, graphic method, running compression and encryption method, and simulation technology of traditional extents capacity calculation method, the articlestudied capacity calculation method in high speed railway passenger transportation section.The article studied the train carrying capacity calculation methods at the same speed levels and different ways of stop condition. and train carrying capacity calculation method in different speed level condition. Capacity calculation model in high speed railway passenger transportation section was established which based on the goal of the least all trains deducting flat figure train number of the train operation plan, and the corresponding algorithm were studied.The article studied thecarrying capacity calculation method in the passenger section, under the condition of this line train schedules and considering train operation. By means of the capacity calculation and analysis on Beijing-Jinan West Railway of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway passenger of the section, we obtained that the carrying capacitywas 14 columns/hour in passenger section on the condition of the same speed trains and different stop way, on the basis of this, without changing train plans on at the same speed rating,after increasing a low level speed train, passenger section capacity reduce to be 9 columns/hour. Therefore, different speed level had a great influence on capacity of the train runs collinear.(4) The capacity reliability assessment based on train operation adjustmentBy means of capacity reliability analysis and definition of high speed railway, combining with the relationship between the actual train running diagrams and after adjusting for train running delay optimization of train diagrams, Respectively analysising and calculating the capacity value ofpractical ability, the remaining ability and the losses caused by delay in two running surplus. Establishing transport capacity reliability assessment indicators and studying the quantitative method, calculation and assessmentof the high speed railway transport capacity reliability were studied. For the problem that the high speed railway train delay and the train operation adjustment was required, setting up train operation adjustment scheme optimization modelbased on sequence optimization method, by means of the simulation calculation, the train operation adjustment scheme with total least delay time is the foundation scheme with reliability assessment. For example of Beijing-Jinan West Railway Station passenger section’s different ability solutions, the ability reliability.was calculated and analyzed. We obtained that, under the same practical ability conditions, the greater the capacity utilization rate, the smaller remaining capacity, the worse reliability.When the capacity utilization rate is nearly 80%, some trains cannot run, need deleting paths is needed.When capacity utilization rate reached 100%, the line deleting is inevitable according the delay.In summary, Based on the analysis of influence factors of high-speed railway capacity. It detailed analyze the different kinds of interval time. The actual number of trains can be greatly improved by this method. In connection with the influence of the triangle area caused by the skylight time and the characteristic of passenger’s time choosing, the article calculate the station carrying capacity and passenger section capacity by one hour for different demand conditions. In addition, the capacity reliability assessment method is based on the optimal adjustment of the train operation. So, it can assess the capacity reliability by smaller influence of the trains’ delay. The carrying capacity calculation methods of station and passenger section of high-speed railway in this paper are more realistic, and these results provide the theoretical support for the practical organization and passenger transportation products designing.
