Research On The Mechanism Of The Layout Of Ming Great Wall Military Defense System

The Great Wall of Ming Dynasty military defense system is a very important part of the Great Wall cultural heritage in ancient China. It’s also a large fortification which has the most complete preservation, complex structure,and tight system. The Great Wall between Ming and Mongolia is the barrier of Ming to defense Mongolian intrusion, as well as a communication bridge between farming and nomadic culture.Since the beginning of nineteen thirties when the history research beginning, understanding of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty military defense system became deeper gradually. In addition to the well-known Great Wall, dotted with military settlements, transportation and information transfer system is an important guarantee for the effective operation of the entire defense system.It has precious intelligence and valuable thoughts of the ancient Chinese layout in the structure system of large and complex. While studies is insufficient, especially from a military perspective, albout the impact on nature, society and human thoughts to the whole defense system layout, still need further research.This paper carries on a research to the layout and site selection principles of the Ming Great Wall military defense system, from three aspects of natural, social, people, using the empirical analysis, normative analysis method,on the basis of full historical materials and field investigation,based on military geography, geopolitics, ‘diversity in unity of the Chinese nation’ theory,the overall historic view and so on, as the theoretical support. It emphasizes the overall defense system, focusing on both sides of the Great Wall military defense system, puts both sides into the scope of the study, interprets the relationship between different factors and hierarchy layout, and Digitizes and visualizes the historical materials. According to the research conclusion, it puts forward that the concept of the orderly zone is a pithy summary of the social order in the border area of Ming Dynasty, and on the basic of Hayek’s theory of order, it interprets the concept from two aspects of natural order and spontaneous orderAs an important Chinese cultural heritage of the world, the Ming Great Wall is suffering serious damage by nature and human. It’s equally important for the interpretation of the history and the present situation inspection. It contribute to a more in-depth understanding of hierarchy structure of the system, and has important practical significance for cultural heritage protection, utilization and development to master the internal principle and important thought of the Ming Great Wall of military defense system layout.
