There are a lot of sites and defensive "BaoAnai" along the Great Wall of Mingdynasty, of shich defensive "Guan Cheng" is the typical model, and they face a questionof protection and development exploitations in the nationwide traveling fever. Thethesis chooses JuYong Guan of the Great Wall to the focus. It researches into the history,the site of choice, the layout and the building of Guan Cheng, and aims at theconstructive opinion proposed on the existing problem in the traveling development. Allthese have great significance in the protection, development exploitations of thehistorical, cultural inheritance of the Great Walls.To begin with, the thesis summarizes and analyses the significance and problems ofthe research wok of JuYong Guan of the Great Wall, with the relevant materials andchoreographies. Then, it summarizes the different characteristics in different historical period in JuYong Guan by analyzing the geographical characteristics of JuYong Guan and combingthe historical grain of the formation and development. And next, the thesis not only analyses the overall characteristics in the layout of JuYong Guan — a comprehensive, organic and deep military defense system whichconsists of five defense lines (CaDao Cheng, Badaling,Juyong Guan Cheng, NankouCheng), but also put emphasis on the characteristics of buildings in Juyong Guan Cheng,thus revealing the value of the military, history, culture and science in Ju Yong Guan. Finally, after investigating the present situation of the travel development in Ju YongGuan, it points out the bad effect brought about by the travel development on theprotection in Ju yong Guan. Concerning the existing problem, the thesis points out thatthe right and objective evaluation on the historical and cultural value of Ju yong Guan isthe premise of the travel development in this area. At the same time it not onlyawakens people's awareness of preserving ,reasonably exploiting the cultural object,and revealing its unique value of culture and science, but also pays more attention to theprotection of the whole natural environment of Ju yong Guan and the ways to developtraveling in this area.
