The freeway has the characteristics of high driving speed and big flow,relative to other roads,it will cause some more serious life and property loss in the case of an accident,therefore,in the process of freeway’s construction and operation,the effectiveness of traffic safety facilities must be guaranteed in order to improve the freeway’s operation safety and comfortableness. And when driving,80% of the traffic information driver get is rely on vision,so the visual condition affect the driver’s driving condition directly.Speed hump,raised pavement markers, anti-dazzle facility, as the basic freeway safety facilities, play a huge role in freeway’s traffic safety, and the security functions of the three facilities is closely related to the drivers’ visual characteristics, so the article chose speed hump, raised pavement markers and anti-dazzle facility as the research object from the perspective of driver visual characteristics.In terms of the study of the optical illusion speed humps,we design the graphics,contour,streching size,color combination and road background collocation of the optical illusion speed humps by studying the driver’s visual perception,after drawing up the initial design plan,we use 3DMAX to create speed humps’ effect simulation scenarios,and use BIB- LCJ evaluation method and semantic analysis to do the preliminary design scheme’s selection and the final selection respectively,then get the design scheme of the optical illusion speed humps. In terms of the study of raised pavement markers,through the analysis of driver visual continuity,flash visual stimulatio,the curvature of perception and other visual perception characteristics, combined with the raised pavement markers’ reflective characteristics and lighting performance of vehicle,we researched the raised pavement markers’ setting parameter of interval of long flatline section,horizontal curve section,vertical curve section and long and steep downgrade section respectively and determine the form and interval at the special place of freeway, such as the entrance and exit ramp and toll plaza. Evaluating the effect of vibration warning through the simulation software of ADAMS/CAR. In terms of the study of anti-dazzle facility,we researched the set parameters of anti-dazzle facility such as height,shielding angle based on different road section by analyzing the visual adaptation and glare’s impact characteristics. And for flatline section, we researched the anti-dazzle facility’s height setting and anti-glare board spacing based on the most unfavorable lane combination. For horizontal curve section, we researched anti-dazzle facility’s height setting and the setting parameter of interval of anti-glare board based on the parking stadia and road superelevation respectively. For the concave vertical curve sections,we researched the anti-dazzle facility’s height setting of the middle section and transition section based on the glare’s longitudinal distance.Base on the optimization method to the three facilities,paper optimized the three facilities’ design scheme of two-phase construction drawing design of Cangzhou, Hebei province to Qiantong(ji lu boundary) in the first contract section(K140 + 502.028 ~ K167 + 300). The research results of the paper can provide theoretical reference and technical support for freeway safety facilities designing and optimizing.
