Currently, there is social challenge on physicians’ lack of medical humanistic quality reflected in the doctor-patient conflicts, which also promotes the deep thinking on the top management of medical education and professional talent team construction. National Medical Certification Examination is the admission test in medicine, and plays an important role in preselecting eligible doctors with both morality and ability. Therefore, Enhancing the evaluation of medical humanistic quality and paying full attention to the examination as the “baton” to achieve specific diagnosis, feedback, motivation and guidance, is thus significant to promote medical humanities education in medical colleges and important to guide medical students and residents to focus on improving their medical humanistic quality. Since the very beginning of National Medical Certification Examination in 1999, it has made a great contribution to ensuring the quality of Chinese medical team, but at present there still exists some problems, such as the content of humanistic quality of medical examination is limited, the core evaluation index unclear, the evaluation method and evaluation means homogeneous, and candidates’ performance can hardly reflect their medical humanistic quality and so on.The research is part of the evaluation indexes system and evaluation methods of physicians’ medical humanistic quality sponsored by National Medical Examination Center of National Health and Family Planning Commission, which aims to put forward appropriate examination content of medical humanistic quality into the Chinese medical qualification examination; to explore the evaluation method which conforms to the country’s national conditions; and empirical research was carried out on the proposed evaluation methods, which provided scientific reference for the reform of national medical qualification examination.The study is based on the expert resources in National Medical Examination Center of National Health and Family Planning Commission and literature resources like a large number of domestic and foreign monographs, papers and reports. Through multiple questionnaires with experts, standard training students, medical students, patients and community residents, and in-depth interviews with domestic authoritative experts, the study identified the evaluation index like clear communication ability to be the most important and appropriate core indicators for the assessment of medical humanistic quality; among all the medical comprehensive written examinations, medical ethics, medical psychology, health law and doctor-patient communication were the most important medical humanistic subjects that should be incorporated into the appraisal. Taking the medical humanities, integration test questions and medical humanistic examination station as the starting point, it explored the medical humanistic reform in the test of comprehensive written and practical skills; the 360 degree method was also adopted to evaluate the medical humanistic quality of the testing object, and empirical research was carried out by correlation analysis, which provided scientific reference for the reform of medical humanities in national medical qualification examination. Through scientific researches, it put forward reform proposals and provided scientific reference for the reform of medical humanities quality evaluation in Chinese medical qualification examination.The research results are mainly embodied in: firstly, comparative analysis and summary was made on the specific strategies and the main approaches of the domestic and international physician qualification examination mode and the medical humanities quality evaluation. Secondly, core evaluation indicators and test subjects in national qualification examination were optimized and constructed to adapt to medical humanities literacy, and appropriate examination forms and specific evaluation methods were identified. Thirdly, this research also summed up the suggestions on the proportion of medical humanities in the current national qualification examination, as well as other specific issues like the suggestions to set independent cut-off scores for medical humanities. Fourthly, the study focused on the major methods of the evaluation on medical humanities in national qualification examination, including the effectiveness and scientificity to combine medical humanities and medicine in the existing exam framework, analyzed the development of medical humanities and clinical type A3 questions, set-up of an independent medical humanities test station, the shackles of traditional tests, and the implementation of periodical, diversified and comprehensive evaluation of medical humanities. In view of the problems that needed to be solved in reality, this study made a systematic and comprehensive research on the evaluation methods of medical humanities, the result of which was of great referential value for the medical humanities examination reform in the physicians’ qualification examination.Key innovative points of this research lies in two aspects. Theoretically, through empirical study it clearly suggested that diversified evaluation theory and methodological framework should be adopted in medical humanities literacy assessment, and suitable evaluation methods be used to according to different evaluation contents; formative evaluation and target evaluation in physicians’ medical humanities evaluation should be combined throughout the whole process of doctors’ professional career. Practically, a methodological framework and work flow of the comprehensive evaluation on physicians’ medical humanistic quality has been formed through practice; in addition, the medical humanities and clinical combined A3 questions was explored, OSCE medical humanistic examination station was set up, and series of practical evaluation scale, normative proposition, proposition strategy in the medical humanities evaluation was also constructed.
