Object:In the modern times, with the transformation of the health concept fromphysical health to mental health, and the development of modern medical model from single dimensional to multidimensional, humane spirit has become senior pursuit of universal. In the context, patients need not only the treatment of physical diseases, but also more medical humanistic care, then the medical humanities concern becomes an important responsibility of physician. However, the medical education in our country emphasized on science and technology and ignored the humanistic care, which leads to the poor occupation morals, low medical humanities quality of some residents, the tension between doctors and patients, medical disputes occur frequently, which has seriously affected healthy development of medical and health services our country and social harmony and stability. Therefore, enhancing residents’ humanistic quality has become an important topic of current development of medical and health reform. At present, the most of studies about the humanistic quality education of residents is in theory, and lacks investigation and research of reliable data, therefore, a lot of the residents’medical humanities education is very empty, poor effect. In view of this, research on the humanistic quality education is very necessary and urgent.Method:The study conducts a questionnaire survey selecting four hospitals in Shanxi Province,298residents. The content involves residents view on the importance of humane quality, the actual application of the humanities knowledge skills and the hospital medical humanities education, residents attitude of medical humanities education and so on, and the results is rich and meaningful.Results:(1) The residents have generally agreed that the medical humanity is very importance, and the Chinese medicines’humanities consciousness is relatively high(2) The residents’humanities knowledge is poor, and there are differences between different academic residents in aspect of humanistic knowledge.(3) The residents’ ability of medical humanistic skill in clinical practice is relatively weak, and along with the degree promotion or working years growth, they can recognize the medical humanistic skill is more important.(4) About three-quarters of the residents don’t think the hospital has carried out medical humanistic training for the resident, and the medical humanities education carried out mainly is in the lectures and lecture based, and form is single.(5) The part of residents who participated in medical humanities education training based on external demand or interest. The majority of doctors believe that the content of past medical humanities education is divorced from reality, and form is single, they hope that the content of the medical humanities education training will be closer to the reality, more targeted, more diversified.Conclusion:The current residents are generally aware of the importance of medical humanities, but their humanistic quality is not optimistic, they should improve autonomous learning and the enthusiasm of medical humanities quality, they didn’t consciously apply humanistic values in the clinical practice. The medical humanities education for physician residents is divorced from reality, and form is single.Based on the above findings and conclusions, the study analyzes the problem and reasons that lead to current resident humanism quality education problem, and put forward the countermeasures and suggestions from the government, hospitals, medical schools and residency four aspects.
