Harmony In Creating

The notion“harmony”, with both philosophical and aesthetic connotation, infers not only the harmony between man and nature, between societies, among people and also the harmony between body and soul. It is also the ideal target of human creation from the ancient till present. Look through the history of Chinese culture, harmony is the core of culture spirit of ancient China. This notion has been deeply planted into the traditional culture of China. This dissertation intends to talk about the harmony between art and science, aiming to testify that the perpetual harmony comes from the integration of art and science. This dissertation, by explaining the aesthetics of creation art, will clarify that, the harmonious design is the principal of human living and developing which can not be ignored. It is also an effective way to moderate environmental crisis and to attain the sustainable development.For modern product design, the essence is to stress the harmony between man, things and surroundings. Because design is the act of creation for man, we can conclude that creation is the act of humanity. At the same time,“design must serve the designed.”Design is the embodiment of man’s ability, so we can see man’s wisdom and creativity; Design is creation to the rules of beauty, we can see man’s mastery of rules, together with the variety of man’s need.In detail, the design of product always involves the usage of it. The demanding of usage will always influence the designation. Materials are indefinitely the basis of human creation, its artifact can also present the article effect. Product always speaks its language with its design, which shows the inner meaning. Human beings at present ask punished. At the moment when man is facing problems and crisis, the notion of sustainable development is put forward, which also brings hope for product design.In general,“harmonious design”and“sustainable development”is the deep reflection of human being of 21st century. They are also the necessary correction and comfortation of human activity. Many facts have shown that, harmony is the fine state and tendency of human living and activity, and also a potential principle and an internal rule which guarantee the sound motivation and development of things. Man and nature and society should be harmonious; man hand his economic activity or economic state should also be harmonious. In a word, harmony should exist in man’s clothing, eating, housing, ect. which is a cordial and united state between man and nature. Thus, a conclusion can be drawn that, things can show an active and orderly mechanism in harmonious development, or, they will produce a negative effect of inadvance or drawback.The cultural study of product design on basis of harmony intends to probe into the potential relationship of product and man, product and surroundings, product and aesthetics, product and future. It is not hard to see that, for product design harmony is a notion, a potential rule, a highest form of construction, a representative of beauty, a standard and an embodiment of design moral.
