Research And Practice Of Slow Design In The Fragmented Post-Modern Life

Slow design is a reflection on the modern accelerated society and thefast-paced life patterns, it is not the real "slow "speed,but wants to find a balancebetween fast speed and slow speed,pursues harmonious development ofhuman, nature and social culture. The slow design is originated from the globalslow movement, is an exploration and extension of the "slow" concept in thedesign field. The slow design is a thinking about essence of design, it leadspeople to focus on the inner real needs, live your life by the right pace, thehealthy and sustainable mind."Fragmentation" of post-modern life is already an inevitable reality, whethermass culture or daily life are quietly changing. The slow design is developingunder such ages background, full account should be taken into characteristics ofthe times and people’s current needs, The focus on "Fragmentation" is expectedto provide the development of slow design with a new perspective and thinkingspace.This paper combines the development background and living situation offragmentation era, further innovates the slow design theory on the basis of theexisting researches, provides a new perspective and direction for thedevelopment of slow design, design is hoped to guide people to develop newminds and values, to improve social subsistence gradually. At last, gives theconclusion and outlook of this project, clears the shortcomings and direction,which is hoped to provide reference for the future related studies.This paper starts from the characteristic of fragmented life, it draws out theenlightenment of fragmented life’s situation on slow design which includesthinking of thoughts， emotions and aesthetic, by analyzing the mind’sunsustainability, the shallow emotion and the shortage of high level taste, todefine the developing direction of the slow design concept, which containsleading the development of the idea of sustainable，building engagement and exchange of emotions， fusing traditional philosophy and aesthetics, thendescribed these directions one by one deeply, to more fully understand slowdesign. Secondly, the slow design concept is introduced into the householdproduct design, ideas，features and sources of inspiration of household productslow design are analyzed, to guide people to take attention to emotions in thedaily life, the traditional things and the long-term relationships between peopleand objects. In the meantime, we want people to care about spiritual needs andaesthetic needs, return to the nature of life, find your own rhythm and patterns oflife in the fickle and complex society. At last, related design practices are doneunder the direction of ideas and features of household product slow design. Onthe one hand, using the examples to certify the previous theory, on the other hand,the research is hoped to provide factual significance to the development of slowdesign in the future.
