A Research On Elicitation Sentences Of Modern Chinese

Elicitation sentences are the discourses which can lead the other’s response in a conversation. Elicitation sentences are pragmatic units which are classified from the discourse function.The mainly research findings about this paper are discourse analysis, conversational context, on the question answering and the praise. But so far, there ’s nobody has made a comprehensive research to the conversation in the elicitation sentence. Therefore, he research objectives of this paper is the comprehensive description on the modern Chinese elicitation sentences. It also answers the question "what is the elicitation sentence?"The research of this paper learns from the theory and method of Discourse analysis. It includes the research findings of The United States of America conversation analysis school and the Bermingham School. It combined with the theory of speech acts. And it also describe analysis of modern Chinese trigger word.Firstly, let’s answer this question, if there is pure elicitation word or not. Then we study every case about ’ Test elicitation word’ in pure elicitation word.We use Van Dijk’s macroscopic word structure theory and verbal behavior theory. We reference resources Liao Meizhen’s method of the research of courtroom questioning to describe and analysis the structure of elicitation sentences.According to the structure of elicitation sentences, we divide the structure of elicitation sentences into multi-turns elicitation sentences ,complex elicitation sentences and simple elicitation sentences.According to the function, we divide the structure of elicitation sentences into three parts. They are elicitation ,core and follow-up.We have described the structure of every kind of elicitation sentence in detail. The elicitation part usually includes address forms, exclamations, meta-discourse, pre-sequence and so forth, the sequential part usually includes such types as complements, explanations.Among multi-turns Elicitation sentences, complex elicitation sentences and simple elicitation sentences, there are something in common in the culturally specific forms of elicitation words, core words and subsequent words. There are also some different parts. There are subtle differences in pragmatic functions even if they are the same kind. We have discussed these differences.This research mainly depends on description to strive to reveal the true appearance of the elicitation sentences of modern Chinese. In the process of description , it also gives some proper explanations to some questions.
