This study derived from an "Eleventh Five-Year" project of National Education Science Planning Youth Fund which I took charge of,"Build professional knowledge of art teachers of basic education and assessment model in China", and this study is much deeper than the project. It is very necessary and timely to summary and exploration of the art curriculum reform for basic education in China.The paper based on the context of the global development of art education, standing on the forefront of the art teachers’education research, analysis art teachers specialized research trends, investigation and analysis of the theoretical basis of China’s art teacher professional development and action practice. The paper provided art teacher professionalization development strategies and practical reference to further outlook of the future10-year primary and secondary school art teacher professional development prospect.To achieve this goal, the research based on the curriculum reform and practice of elementary and high schools at home and abroad, summary and analyses the implementation of policies and literatures. Study art teachers’ professional development status in the new curriculum in different regions of primary and secondary school. Find common characteristics and core elements of the art teachers’professional development from the case study of the excellent art Professional Development of Teachers in individual and team ways. Implementation of professional development standards have done for art teacher in experimental areas. All of this research can promote the knowledge of art teachers’professional development of regularity.Studies have shown that art teachers should establish a "professional vision" on the basis of long-term goal, sources of professional development to the quality of education of the children to achieve self-development.Specific sections to be defined as follows:The prologue, from the three perspectives of the field of educational research, the field of art research and art of teaching practice areas of questioning to the issues raised by this study, this study intends to address the key issues and significance, clear objectives, content and research methods.Chapter Ⅰ "Theoretical research of art teacher professional development", is on the framework of the philosophy of art teachers’professional development, pedagogy, learning theory and art education theory, clarifying Chinese basic education, art teacher professional image, status, characteristics, and the theoretical basis of professional development, analyzing and comparing the status and trends of research in the field at home and abroad.Chapter Ⅱ is "The investigation of art teachers’situation and the cognitive of expertise knowledge". First, we review the policy and implementation. Then, we choose three kinds of people to do the questionnaire, that is, art teachers, prepare teachers and expert, to find different view about the knowledge which the art teacher should have. At last, we have analyzed three level of teachers’ classroom teaching, that is, contest teaching, pre-teacher teaching and day-to-day teaching. Through quantitative and qualitative research methods, we have explored the theory and practice of art teachers’ professional knowledge, so that we can provide a basis for further research.Chapter Ⅲ is "Individual case reports of the art teacher professional development" and Chapter Ⅳ is "Art teacher professional development experience comes from team". Through in-depth study and analysis of eight cases which stand for different stages of development of art teacher in different regions of China, we use empirical approach to study the professional development of excellent local art teachers and obtain experiences. Highlight the significance of knowledge and practice in the professional development process.Chapter Ⅴ,"The case study analysis and the art teacher professional standard application" is following the practical study of the third and the fourth chapters, the art teacher professional development features, the core factors enhance the theory and practical level of art teachers’professional development standards for testing and implementation, and explore the excellent art teacher professional development methods.Chapter Ⅵ,"The future prospect and strategies of art teacher’s professional development", will further expand the horizons of this study, from developed countries, the art teacher professional development policy formulation and implementation of practical experience in the revelation. Analyze trends and needs of our future art teachers’professional development. Put forward China’s future art teacher professional development strategies and future prospect.Chapter Ⅶ of the full text of Summary, overview of the purpose and content, draw conclusions, and further study.
