Four Discussions On Tang Poetry

Tang Poetry was first inoculated in palace. Under a paramount influence of the emperor, Tang’s metrical poetry was established quickly. The genre of metrical poetry was gradually forming stereotypes,"the essence of literature was elegant and refined to reach the acme of perfection". During this period, Tang poetry represented extravagant banquets or upper class activities in the palace! In my view, Tang poetry fully symbolized a prosperous and cultural atmosphere of Tang dynasty, which was rarely seen in ancient times and even nowadays. Tang Poetry was integrated into political culture. It was widely spread among the palace and society. The discussion would be divided into the following six chapters:Chapter1"Introduction":Read the ins and outs of the entire paper. Meanwhile, the origin, significance, research content and literature data of this thesis are clear explained.Chapter2"Four main reasons enhancing the development of Tang Poetry" From a political perspective and cultural perspective, Tang Poetry was good for cultivating a unique and prosperous atmosphere of a kingdom; hence the emperors had a passion for it. All the intellectuals could gain a chance to become scholars or even "Hanlin scholars"(chief officials) by their talents in poetry writing. Therefore, it showed that "Tang Poetry and the official" had an absolute intertwine relationship. Moreover, the literati edit excerpted, and the printing, copying, collection, sale of poetry as their culture habits sped up the development of Tang poetry.Chapter3"A study of changes and innovative development of Tang metrical poetry":This chapter explores the changing process of Tang Poetry, its formation far started from Wei Jin South and North Dynasties down to the High Tang. From the related poetry and poetics try to discuss Tang Poetry on the basic elements of consisting and its source. Then, an innovative process of Tang Poetry is elaborated. The greatest emperor Tang Tai Zong showed the basic elements of Tang Poetry, which was regarded as the beginning of stereotype of metrical poetry; the poet Shen Song represented the middle stage, while the poet Du Fu marked the acme. The Chinese Tang poetry went through various processes to pursue beauty and excellence in both content and writing skills.Chapter4"Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People (15kinds)":This chapter is based on the existing "Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People New edition (13kinds)", compiled earlier by Fu Xuan Cong, and is added with "Gao shi three feast Poetry" and the "Xiang Shan nine old Poetry", in total of15kinds of poetry. The first part explores the time of compilation, in order to be more comprehensive, a detailed understanding of compilation of the "Tang poetry anthology" is included. The second part is a statistical analysis of identity, classification and the number of poems of selected poets. And the third part puts forward different types of poems such as a court poem, civil poem, female poem, old male poem, monk poem, poor scholar poem, and famous scholar poem.Chapter5"Tang People’s Comment on Tang Poetry in6aspects":Firstly, their status and foundation of their theories in early, high, middle and late Tang dynasty are introduced. Then a detailed study of the characteristics of Tang Poetry and its innovative process are explained. All the major poetics are divided into six categories by content and theories including Confucian poetic, text quality, rhythm, strength of character, poetry format and artistic conception. For the core idea of each poetic, it briefly explains some instructions.Chapter6"Conclusion":This chapter is summarized into three parts, the first part discusses the reasons of the development and the pursuit of beauty and refinement during the creation process. The second part discusses "Tang Poetry Anthologized by Tang People" and "Tang People’s comment on Tang Poetry". The third part discusses the enlightenment from The Theory of Tang Poetry. In concluding remarks, put forward the four major characteristics, which also summarizes the value and artistic achievement of Tang Poetry in Tang dynasty.
