Modern life not only drives people faster but face more problems. When people face more and more problems they would suffer mental illness easily if they fail to deal with problems properly. This is the reason why more and more people eager to the subject of the mental growth. Besides, mental illness is not only harmful to individuals but also caused a certain degree of impact on society. Although, there are experts to help people who suffer from mental illness such as Psychiatrists and Psychological consultants. However, why should we take care the people after they has suffered. There is a saying goes,’To prevent is better than to cure’.Maybe we can prevent it before it happens and this is what actually doctor does. After all, mental illness is not like physical illness. To give help to whom has already suffered is a palliative. As well as personal mental illness can only be solved by himself. As a result, this study will conduct a synthesized analysis and provide a thinking pattern through cross cultures study among Chinese traditional culture, original Buddhism and modern western psychology. To realize how they help people to set up a correct think pattern, and what are the principles and values of them when they encounter the various life events.First, in modern western psychology, at early stage Adler had already asserted that social culture is a key factor to influence individual’s mind become health or illness. Then Humanism Psychologists believe that everyone has a motive to healthy personality development and self-realization. People will have a healthy personality as long as individual could grow up smoothly during every stage. They stress that no one has nature to become mental disorder on purpose. The mental illness is caused by the impact of nurture environment. Meanwhile those good people will have long-range goals and they realize that the happiness is not the goal to pursue but a byproduct during the pursuit of their ideal and aspiration. And the experts of Cognitive Therapy consider that there is a cognitive process between problems and mental illness. This cognitive process just is the key to become mental illness. Those who become mental illness easily are usually have some extent disorder of the cognition. The mental illness could be recovery when people could change their cognitive pattern. And then Positive Psychology emphasize that well being is a kind of subjective feeling and there is no common objective standard. Therefore make people feel happiness is not what had happened but how to explain it. They also consider that people who show negative emotions and self-abandoned were basically because the learned helplessness. People could change those negative emotions and attitudes as they realize the process of the learned helplessness. And last narrative therapy claim that how people understand the psychological phenomena is constrained by time, space, history, culture and custom etc. In other word, knowledge is relative and there is no such absolute standard for which is right or wrong but depend upon some specific history and culture. The mental illness could be understood is a result of social construction. Thus if psychological consultant want to deal with mental illness then they need to deconstruct the life story which described by visitors. And then externalization is conducted which means distinguish person from problems. In many cases, visitors who suffer from mental illness are always combine themselves and problems and believe themselves are equal to problems. In fact, problems and visitors are irrelevant. Visitors would have no problem no matter how terrible event happened. In the mean time, psychological consultant must break the bases of the life story which visitors take for granted and reconstruct a new life story.Second, in Chinese traditional culture, Chinese Traditional Medicine theory emphasizes the concept of overall physical and mental. The emotion could influence the’qi’which is inside the body. For example, the qi would mess when people are angry, and obstruct when people are depressed. The qi would separate from blood while people are astonished. The qi belong to’yang’and the blood belong to ’yin’. The yin and yang would unbalanced while the qi was disordered. In the meantime, people would get problem while yin and yang were unbalanced. As a result, Chinese medicine advocates that people should maintain their overall healthy by controlling the desire of themselves and coordinating with the rule of the nature. Then Taoist philosophy also stressed that nothing is important but to take care our body. Especially the behavior of struggle for power and fame and so on in society is not important at all. We should not focus on them too much and the mental illness could be avoided when we do not follow the standard values of the others made. Then Confucian philosophy claim that people should focus on self-cultivation and fit manner. People should make the greatest contribution to society depend on their specialties. Any difficulties encountered is not worthy concerned when people have not accomplished their mission yet. In addition, dealing with people should seriously consider by the virtue and morality instead of the self-interest. Therefore, a good man always worry about the virtue and morality in whole life and do not care about personal situation is good or bad in a day.Last, in original Buddhism of ancient India, Buddha emphasized that everybody’s life is full of suffers just like a bitter sea, as a result, he vowed to rescue people from this bitter sea and to help their souls going to western paradise. Why he said that life is like bitter sea? Just as whenever and wherever cause people physical and mental suffering. There are giving birth bitter, getting older bitter, getting sick bitter, getting dying bitter in physical part, as well as there are bitter of encountering what is detested, bitter of separating from what is love, bitter of unsatisfying all wishes, bitter of psychological processes in mental part. There are three main reasons which could lead to mental illness. First is three root irritations which are greedy, malice, unwisely (ignorance). Second is stubborn. Third is unwise thinking. Meanwhile, Buddha suggested many ways to get rid of the sufferings of the mental illness, such as the thirty seven aids to enlightenment, namely ariyo atthangiko maggo, satta bojjhanga, satipatthana, sammappadhana, iddhipada, indriya, panca bala. As well as never make a distinction and so on. Both Chinese traditional culture and the Buddhism emphasize the important value of the tranquilizing. They both agree that the vipassana is the best way to prevent from the mental illness.
