The Rise Of Experimental Philosophy And The Scientific Innovation Of Theoretical Psychology

In recent years, the movement of experimental philosophy (X-phi) that rise in western philosophy is regarded as a methodological revolution. X-phi is integrating the useful research tools and research findings from various discipline,such as psychology, neuroscience, evolutionary theory, experimental economics, and other "scientific" fields. The goal of X-phi is attempt to bring new strength to the study of traditional issue in analytic philosophy. Although X-phi was criticized by many philosophers, but we still can feel its great vitality and competitiveness from its rapid development.Theoretical psychology has a long history, but emerge as an independent branch of psychology was began in1960s. Theoretical psychology entering a "theory boom" period in1980-1990.Thanks to the efforts of Koch S. Royce and other scholars. In the21st century, the study of theoretical psychology is to focus on the criticism and reflection of research methods. Their research aim is to "rebuild the foundation of scientific methodology, and providing new perspectives and approaches to psychological research". Although it has made many achievements, but still facing a lot of difficulties and crisis. Some scholars hold the opinion that theoretical psychology will returned the old road of philosophy, and they questioned the theoretical psychology can produce substantive results. In order to enhance the status of theoretical research in psychological science, psychology theorists who have developed a way to explore both the theoretical rationality and innovative.This paper analyzes the current situation of experimental philosophy. The framework of this paper consists of two parts:First, introduce the new production which rise from analysis philosophy, summarized its historical background, the main research methods and innovative research results; Secondly, analysis the enlightenment from X-phi.That is a good question for theoretical psychology, how to use scientific and objective way to achieve innovation and breakthrough.
