Practical And Theoretical Construction Of Sun Shaozhen’s Text Reading

Our thesis has combed the development of the three schools studying text interpretation from the research angle of Sun (?)aozhen. Of these three schools, one is the empirical represented by Ye Shengtao, one is the rational represented by Zhu Guangqian and the one integrating the first two represented by Zhu Ziqing. We have explored both their strong points and weak points from the research angle of Sun Shaozhen who has inherited achievements in case study of the empirical, the theoretical foundations of the rational and the essence of the School represented by Zhu Ziqing who integrated theories of the other two schools.Sun Shaozhen has not totally accepted all the theories of those representatives of three schools or that of the western. What’s more, he does not take seriously of the negation towards literature by deconstructivism, is dissatisfied with the reader-centered theory and the multiple interpretation and criticizes the Russian formalism based on text-centered theory. He points that the contradiction between text interpretation and theory lies that what the former purses is the uniqueness of each text while the latter the generality because of which, he thinks, text interpretation should become an independent subject. After assimilating the fundamental theories and methods of the west, he has accepted the essence of battling with the authorities according to his own experience in reading and creation as a result of which he goes against the anti-population theory advocated by the edgy theories from the west. His study method is take the image as the logical starting point which is also the staring point of history analyzing its inner contradictions and developing course and then constructing its spiral escalation.On all the points mentioned above, the thesis has summed up several points of Sun Shaozhen’s text interpretation theories. What the traditional literary view emphasizes is the unification of the true, the good and the beautiful against which Sun Shaozhen thinks the unification of the three means the loss of art and should be in the relationship of misalignment which means the bigger the misalignment among the emotion, science and ration, the higher of the esthetic value. Also he advocates three levels of text interpretation the first image of which is the explicit and superficial cohesion, the second level which is more implicit refers to the emotional changes hidden in the mage groups. Different from rational logic, emotional logic is transcendences the identification law of the formal logic and the comprehensiveness of the argumentative logic and takes one-sidedness as its goal. Therefore, once understanding the image logic means understanding the writer’s specific hidden emotion which is important in showing esthetic values. Different from the traditional two-dimension esthetic theory, the third level which is also regarded as the greatest theory invention by Sun Shaozhen is its three-dimension theory including subjectivity, objectivity the two of which are only the rudiment of the image and the artistic form which determines the establishment of the image. Another point makes Sun Shaozhen different is that his innovation literature interpretation theory emphasizes the unique personalities of characters creating a misunderstanding among characters, which is different from the traditional novel analysis and Matrix Structure. Then Sun Shaozhen put forward the concept of Beauty Analysis, Evilness Analysis and Wisdom Analysis in the theory construction of prose. One characteristic of his theory is its strong practicality which means restoring the uniqueness by multi-level specific analysis ignored by abstract theory. He also proposes to restore a literary writing in imagination and compare it with the writing and find its contradictions the method of which he again refines into the restoration of perception and logic, historical context and style.Above all, Sun Shaozhen’s theory will greatly promote the communication and exchanges among the Mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan. Our thesis shows the importance of his theories by putting them in the whole Chinese text interpretation history in the late one hundred years and the global interpretation subject.
