The human history is closely related to creation, and,that is to say,to studycreation concept,that is to explore the ideological track that human beings have gonealong in the process of human history development.Creation concept is the artificially and materialized product under humanexistence and living necessities. Creation studying in China began in the late1980’s,which opened up the theory and methodology study of “Creation” in thecontemporary design field.Research on folk creation concept of Tujia nationality, that sorts out the localcreation form and the process of ritual activities from the perspective of art, probesinto the ideological system such as creation origin, ethics and aesthetics that havecome into being through the process of taking place and development of creationform. This thesis falls into six parts.Chapter one is an introduction, which sets forth the research purpose andsignificance of Tujia folk creation concept and its current research situation athome and abroad as well as its related articles achievement retrieval and also finds outthe find out the innovation point and built-in problems of this thesis. In the meantime,to define the concepts involved and creation culture in the thesis is in order to lay thefoundation for research methods, contents and theoretical framework.Chapter two teases apart the dialectical relationship and forming processbetween the origin and development of Tujia creation and its genre. At the sametime, It classifies the particularity, categorization and genre of the sources of relatedarticles, so that the research idea on this topic could be clear.From the special carriers’ forming process of spiritual world, such as Tujia folkmyths, totem worship, exorcism and reproductive worship and so on.On the onehand, Chapter three reflects the natural law of creation, national memory andsymbols in the ritual activities, as well as the objective reality in decorative costume,and these elements lead to an imitation of the real world. On the other hand,Chapter three manifests the pursuit of utility of human beings, the continuationlove of flesh and blood, as well as constant sublimation of sexual love in thesentimental world of life,and finally clarifies the theoretic relationship between theperspectives of creation origin. In the quaternary relationships of heaven and earth, human and God chapterfour consists of human-divine order, and reflects how the Tujia people form theirparticular way of thinking, production and social manners through the creationactivities; accordingly affects their view of benevolence, view of blood love order, aswell as the view of social life, and all these generate their ethical order. Meanwhile,under pursuing practicality-based modeling principle, which consists of spontaneousinstinct, it reflects such as attaining practical altruism, following its naturaladaptability, and valuing its simplicity. These elements have formed the importantsource of Tujia creation ethics.Chapter five states the concepts of “valuing blackness and esteemingwhiteness”,“matching reddness with greenness, and then no conventional pattern”,and decorative pattern features that form the aesthetic order of unique binaryrelation; and also reflect the tight connection among the construct of creation imagesystem and the continuation of white tiger spirit, the symbol and chasing of “sex” aswell as the rebirth of an image. While implementing the layout of architecturalgeomantic omens (Feng Shui) and modeling of material texture, the relationship ofmutual confirmation between human and nature is embodied,and they together formthe aesthetics of Tujia creation.Chapter six is an conclusion. While emphasizing the relation of sense of humanexistence, it reflects the ideological characteristics such as original nature of creationforms, its symbol and pattern’s independency as well as the art’s dependency, andthese factors constitute the plain and simple Tujia creation ideology such astranditional commennts:“Those living on mountain get their liveing from themountains, those living near the water get their liveing from the water(to make aliving in one’s given circumstances)”,“the mountain governs people, and watergoverns properties”, and “to occupy heaven rather than earth” and so on.With the acceleration of global integration and urbanization in China, Tujia folkcreation art is facing great survival crisis; and to rethink the national materialtangible cultural heritage, has the positive significance for building WulingMountains, taking ecological civilization as the core of national economic and socialdevelopment patterns.
