Research On The Ideology Security Of Contemporary China

Ideology is an important modern category formed along with the development of western philosophy. It is a series of ideas based on a certain economic foundation, which represents a certain class or a social group’s (including a country or a country group) interests, and guides the class and the group’s action. Although he never defined the term "ideology", Marx’s academic research granted the word of ideology an unusual position. Since20th century, the politicians and scholars of China and west countries developed the theory of ideology from different angles and positions. In the current information era of deepened globalization, along with the culture communication between China and Western countries and the acceleration of world integration process, the concept and content of ideology have undergone profound changes. After the creation of the theory of ideology, ideological safety issues have arisen. Ideological safety indicates that a national ideology status maintains a relatively stable state without threats, and maintains a guiding position of mainstream ideology in national political power, political system, ideology and culture, values and way of life. The field of ideological struggle didn’t end because of the end of the cold war. Because of the rooted opposition of the social systems, foreign forces have never given up westernization and subversion plots against China. Under globalization and the world’s economic integration, the developed western countries implement the "westernization strategy" and "differentiation strategy" in China, by virtue of the advantages of economy, technology and management, and the hegemony of theoretical discourse. The developed western countries implement the ideological hegemony, penetrate and export the bourgeois ideology and values. They employed more diversified penetration methods, which displayed more concealment and deception than ever. It has severe impact on China’s mainstream socialist ideological security. Foreign forces hope that they have the final victory over the socialist system with the aid of ideology competition. Meanwhile, our country’s pace to open speeds up further, and the society increasingly shows a complex situation:political civilization, values, social ideals and moral standards are being reviewed and measured. The mainstream socialist ideological security issues become increasingly prominent, and the core of socialist values is now faced with serious test. Struggle in ideological field has become a great and formidable task of our party and government at present, relating to China’s national security, social stability and people’s unity. It is of great importance to develop the socialism with Chinese characteristics smoothly.So, for the philosophy and social science scholars, it’s a glorious but arduous task to analyze ideological security situation of our country, to study our country’s ideological security challenges, to construct a feasible path and protection system for our country’s socialist ideological security, to resist and compete with the western ideological penetration and impact, and to ensure the progress of socialism with Chinese characteristics smoothly. This paper studies and analyzes six main problems about contemporary Chinese ideological security:the first is the connotation of the ideology and ideology safety. It discussed the origins of ideology which derived the concept of ideology in the paper. It discloses the function and nature of ideology and defines the concept, content and basic characteristics of ideological security. The second is the background of ideological security theory. This paper discusses the ideology of Marx and Lenin, Stalin, and introduces the typical ideology safety theories in western countries. The third is the review and thoughts on the construction of contemporary Chinese ideology. This paper analyzes the history of ideological security construction in the contemporary China, including Mao Zedong period, Deng Xiaoping period, the three represents period, and the scientific concept of development period. The historical experiences and practices provided important reference for the better maintenance of Chinese ideological security. The fourth is the practical enlightenment of foreign ideological security construction. This paper discusses the Soviet Union and western countries’ practice in the construction of ideological safety. The fifth is contemporary challenges of ideological security in China. With the deepening of economic globalization, our country’s ideological security faces unprecedented external penetration and influence from unstable domestic factors. The society becomes more and more complex, and the mainstream ideological security issues become increasingly prominent. The sixth is the ideological security routing choice in the contemporary China. From the strategic height of national security, we should put the ideological security problems in an important position, think innovatively, construct the security of socialist ideology in the new path of our country through practical and flexible means and method, enhance the cohesion, persuasion and appeal of socialist ideology, and make people willing to accept and identify our country’s mainstream socialist ideology.In conclusion, this paper discusses the meaning of ideology and ideological security, the background of ideological security theory, the progress of the construction of contemporary Chinese ideology, the enlightenment of foreign ideological security construction, the challenges and path selection of contemporary Chinese ideological security etc. The target of the study on contemporary Chinese ideological security is to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the maintenance of our socialist national security.
