The object of this dissertation is the Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese characteristics, attempting to review the basic thoughts related to overseas Chinese Affairs, which have formed in our government’s practice of handling overseas Chinese Affairs since the reform and opening-up. On the basis of the systematic illustration of the social background, practice foundation and ideological origin of the forming and developing of the Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese characteristics, this dissertation attempts to analyze and interpret its main content, inner logic, distinctive characteristics and multi-values via the study of its logical structure and developmental lines.This dissertation consists of5parts, which are Preface, Chapter1, Chapter2, Chapter3and Conclusion.The Preface is an introduction of the selection of the topic, literature review, research methods, and the difficulties met when doing the research and how original this study is.Chapter1:The production and development in the Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese characteristics. The basic conditions for the forming of it are illustrated from the angles of social background, practice foundation and ideological origin. The historical process is studied through the analysis of its developmental lines.The Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese characteristics didn’t form and develop on its own, but resulted from a certain social background, practice foundation and theoretical origin. That is, it formed and is developing on the basis of more than30years of the grand practice, which has been closely related to the theme, feature and spirit of the times, of the construction of the modernization with Chinese socialist characteristics undergone by the communist members led by Xiaoping Deng. Zemin Jiang and Jintao Hu. the overall inheritance of Maoist thoughts and the encapsulation of the experience of and the lessons learned from the Overseas Chinese affairs. Since the reform and the opening-up, each session of the Central Committee of the Party have made their own distinctive and outstanding contributions to the forming and developing of the Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese Characteristics, but the differences in the respective environment, times, situation and the tasks focused have made the Overseas Chinese Affairs Thoughts of the Xiaoping Deng, Zemin Jiang, and Jintao Hu distinctive, though they displace certain succession.Chapter2:The content and inner logic of the Socialist Theory of Overseas Chinese Affairs with Chinese Characteristics.
