In the view of Marxist materialism, the life activities of human beings are conscious. That means human being not only exists in a biological format, but also endows transcendence of life that differs from animals, i.e., the value life, due to nature of human transcendence and the pursuit for truth, goodness and beauty. The realization of human value life is a process for people to accept, agree with the general life values of society, to form corresponding more stable behavior character and to put it into practice. Life values education plays a fundamental role in this process. In modern society, economy marketization, political democratization, cultural secularization, and value diversification have significant impact on the life value consciousness of human, and those impacts naturally present both positive and negative "dual" effect. From the positive aspects, the awakening and promotion of all kinds of consciousness, such as equal consciousness of life, consciousness of individuality, consciousness of freedom, consciousness of life participation, and consciousness of duty, are important characterizations. From the negative aspect, this led to the crisis of consciousness of modern value of life, which is mainly reflected by tool rational expansion, the forgotten of purpose value consciousness, consumerism popular and the lost of consciousness of the spirit life value, the scientism development and digestion of sanctity life value consciousness, value relativism, the value of metaphysical nihilism and human value conscious fall and so on. The status exhibits new challenges to modern life values education. It becomes a very urgent topic on how to reconstruct a reasonably modern consciousness of life value. This is also the basis of the thesis topics and value lies.Based on the full study on this issue at home and abroad, this paper fully absorbed its reasonable elements, and break through the limitations of the study, to supplement and improve its shortcomings. The main body of the paper consists of four major components, focusing on four aspects:Firstly, based on the interpretation of the basic concepts of life values and life values education, combined with the history and status of life values education, and the crisis of awareness of life value under current situation since the founding of New China, we pointed out that contemporary life values education must go pace with the times, and proposed a concept of reconstructing reasonable awareness of life value is the prime objective of modern life values education. The content of this part is mainly in the first chapter.Secondly, the theoretical basis and ideological resources on contemporary life values education were analyzed and summarized. Contemporary life values education must be on the scientific understanding as the theoretical premise. This paper made multi-level interpretation on the natural and social attributes from the point of biologial and socio-cultural field, and particularly emphasized the correct interpretation of this proposition that Marx proposed "human is the summation of social relations", thereby provided a theoretical pivot for the reconstruction of awareness of contemporary life value. Life values education is a permanent new topic. Therefore, wherever in China or in the West, there left rich life values education resources. This papers summarized the Western mainstream form of life values education as well as Marxist life values education, summed up their experience and insufficiency, so as to provide a reference for contemporary life and values education. This section is mainly in the second chapter.Thirdly, a more systematic analysis and interpretation had been performed on the main content of contemporary life values education. The mission of contemporary life values education is to reconstruct the awareness of modern life value, which is involved in what kind of life values that the educators instilled into the educatee. This paper analyzed systematically contemporary life values from three levels including respecting for life, kindness to life and beautifying life. This paper proposed that respecting for life is the basis of awareness of modern life value, kindness to life is the sublimation of awareness of contemporary life value, whereas beautifying life is beyond of awareness of contemporary life value. Respecting for life closely links point of views tightly to life with unique and irreplaceable values and equality of life, while kindness to life demands people to have a sense of mission on the basis of respecting for life and sense of responsibility, and consciously take the initiative to bear on the nature, society, others responsibility, whereas beautifying life places the pursuit of freedom as the theoretical premise that beautifying life, speaking from the realm of form, need people realize metaphysical transcendence in the life of shape of world, just like a state of "cosmic realm" by Feng Youlan, or Chinese traditional philosophy proposed "But the studies of men below are felt on high, and perhaps after all I am known". From practical level, beautifying life is the objectification of human essential power, i.e., according to "virtues law" to shape the world and self. Speaking from the ideal level, it is "human freedom and comprehensive development". As a philosophical proposition,"Human freedom and comprehensive development" refers to people living in this world through their own activities to subsumption human development fruits and comprehensive generated object relationship. Respecting for life, kindness to life, beautification of life constitutes more complete system of the contemporary life values education. This part of the contents distributed in the third, fourth, fifth chapters.Fourthly, the principles, approaches, ways and practice of contemporary life values education were interpretated. The principles of life values education include naturality principle, living principle, experience principle, basic principle etc. The methods of contemporary life values education need to be pointed, flexible and comprehensive, such as reasoning education method, the emotional scene molding experience method, Cooperative learning method, Psychological counseling method and so on. The approaches to contemporary life values education are utilizing school education, family education and social education to form a joint force, to perform scientific life values education on the social members.
