The United States is a great world power, whose modern politics, economy, military and culture attracts worldwide attention. While the United States itself has something ingrained and one of is social integration issue whose core is ethnic politics. Ethnic discrimination is its key knot. The concept nationalism of White supremacy had always controlled the operation of the mechanism in the areas of politics, economy and culture. Among the230years of history of the United States, ethnic relations in the United States have experienced confrontation with the indigenous Indians, enslaved blacks and today’s multicultural coexistence. Ethnic relations have also some adjustments. There are five stages such as ethnocide, forced assimilation, ethnic discrimination, ethnic multiculturalism and cultural conflict. In the same time the U.S. federal government has implemented its minority ethnocide forced assimilation, national isolation and multicultural policies.Since the independence of the United States, the government has been seeking the way of a forged American culture, trying to let people from all over the world who come into the United States be melted into and forge a new cultural and ethnic group. Mutual respect between peoples is the premise and foundation of the relations of ethnic relations. Without it there is not a basis of equality, assimilation of American is aimed at the non-Anglo culture. During the course of assimilation, some theories have played a major role in the formation of national policy, such as Puritanism, Social Darwinian evolution, Weber Thesis, Henry Morgenthau’nationalism, Thomas Paine’national groundbreaking awareness, Alexander Hamilton’Anglo-conformity, Dewey’s pragmatism and multiculturalism, Rawls’liberalism and Huntington’s Clash of Civilizations.Comparing the other regions of the world, the ethnic problems in the United States have their obvious characteristics and difference. One embodies the conflict occurred between the early immigrants and indigenous, the other is the conflict occurred between most immigrants and minority immigrants. It is just under the premise of these problems, the United States forms its unique ethnic relations and its control measures.Anglo-conformity affects ethnic relations and the development of ethnic relations in the United States has been based on a distorted, hideous face show in the world. There has been confrontation and negative confrontation struggle in the development of ethnic relations in the United States. In the process of the evolution of American ethnic relations, all except for the white person experience ethnic discrimination and ethnic persecution. In21st century, Obama became the president of the United States, which did not change this situation.Marxist dialectical materialism is our ideological weapon, so we should admit that forced assimilation of American "melting pot" assimilation policy succeeded in smelting the core values of American agree, otherwise there is no now powerful America. Now though African-American, Asian, Hispanic and all ethnic groups agree with this value, they still need to seek equality and justice. On the one hand, the United States claimed that everyone is equal, emphasized on the concept of natural rights, idiotic imagined "undifferentiated" society, on the other, the United States gave each person designated and limited national identity which was difficult to change, whose logic was ruminate and ponder. In a globalized world the Anglo-conformity theory and the American belief have been shaken by the multi-culture. The United States is a nation of immigrants, which will determine its ethnic relations and ethnic issues are more complex than other traditional countries. So the root of ethnic discrimination is not removed, the difficult harmonious ethnic relations. The significance to study ethnic relations of the United States is that as the multi-ethnic diversity and unity country, China how to avoid the deficiencies and errors when the Unites States dealing with ethnic relations and making ethnic policies, embarking on their own unique ethnic harmony founding trip.
