The ideological security is facing unprecedented severe threats and challenges. It has become a major realistic problem that correlates the survival of China. With the rapid development of information network technology, especially the gradual universality of modern media, forums, blogs, micro blogs, WeChat and so on have been widely applied. The traditional media’s pattern and public opinions have changed fundamentally. The top-to-down "transitional" information transmission has become "direct transmission" between the information source and target audience. The huge amount of modern media information, remarkable differences, high transmission speed and strong mobility have provided solid technological support, abundant information resources, effective tools and innovative methods for maintaining the ideological security in our country. Moreover, they have expanded the approaches and space for transmitting mainstream ideology in our country, and improved the masses’ identification ability of mainstream and non-mainstream ideology. It is beneficial to strengthen the transmission and influence of socialist theories with distinctive Chinese features in the world. Furthermore, it creates favorable conditions for maintaining the ideological security in our country. Yet, at the same time, with the wide range of application of modern media, China obviously encounters more difficulties in guiding social masses’ thoughts. The control on social public opinions is obviously weakened. Western values obviously penetrate into the core socialist values in our nation. The intermingled western values flood in our country by means of the platform of modern transmission so that the masses’ values are generally greatly shocked and affected. In this way, there are a diversity of ideologies and values in society. It greatly affects our traditional culture as well as the appeal and influence of Marxism. The risks of ideological security obviously increase.Therefore, on the basis of systematically analyzing the theories about the ideological security both at home and abroad, especially the ideological security in China, it is of great and realistic significance for effectively defending and fighting against the penetration and damages of western conflicting ideology to objectively and accurately judging the current situation of ideological security in modern media in our country, deepen into the positive effects of modern media on the ideological security in our country and negative factors, propose the guiding ideas and basic principles to maintain the ideological security in our country, actively explore into the feasible approaches to keep the ideological security in our country and preventive systems as well.
