The issue of cultural hegemony is one of the important issues of Marxist Political Theory, to which the Chinese Communist Party has always attached great importance since its foundation. A series of new media emerging from the Internet are flourishing. Due to the popularity and decentralization of new media tools, the cultural hegemony of the Chinese Communist Party has been undermined and challenged unprecedentedly. How to fully grasp the characteristics and rules of the new media and use it to consolidate the Party’s cultural hegemony has become an important topic of the times for the Party. This paper focuses on some related conceptions by Marxism classical writers,analyzes the theoretical connotations of cultural hegemony, reviews and summarizes the experiences and lessons of the Chinese Communist Party’s cultural hegemony construction, faces directly today’s increasingly complex ruling environment and serious situation, dissects the opportunities and challenges for the construction of cultural hegemony due to the rapid development of new media, explores the effective ways that Chinese Communist Party uses the new media to consolidate cultural hegemony. Through the perspective of combining theoretical analysis and practical analysis, historical analysis and comparative analysis, this paper seeks to achieve the perfect combination of classical theory and objective reality.
